Dark Art Studios Set The Mood With Dungeon Sounds!
December 13, 2014 by brennon
Dark Art Studios have put together a collection of ambient music for you to use with your dungeon delving adventures. You can check them all out HERE and listen to samples if you like...
These are actually pretty neat and set a cool mood for the delving your heroes are going into. I like the idea of having some of this old school music playing over Dungeons & Dragons in particular. Give them a listen...
What did you think of them?
Stuff like this has been about ever since the BBC released their radio sound effects tapes in the 70’s. Yes we have tried something similar, usually lasts half hour before the DM turns it off because they cant hear whats being said by the players
I can see that happening lol. Sounds pretty cool, though. I’d be tempted to put this on at a very low volume, and see how annoyed everyone gets. If I could get a sublimal message in there, like “The DM (me) needs a beer,” so much the better. 🙂
Whats your address again? I have an urge to ship spirits your way 😛
These will fit nicely as atmospheric Halloween music in my haunted house next year.
Look up Lustmord if you want some truly dark stuff for ambient music.
It’s good stuff. Finding the right ambient music for RPGs is key. Stuff which is not overpowering but perfectly ambient is great. I’ve only just using music in my RPG sessions. For a long time I thought it was a naff idea, but I found it really helped everyone get into the scenes. Of course you need to be careful with volume, finding the right level where it doesn’t mute the players, but no quiet enough to become waste.
