Cubicle 7 Reveal More From Champions Of Order Supplement
December 8, 2020 by brennon
Cubicle 7 are going to be expanding upon the world of Age Of Sigmar: Soulbound with a new supplement called Champions Of Order in the new year. This book will offer up new options for the Soulbound and give you the chance to play as a wider array of characters.
Champions Of Order // Cubicle 7
As you might have guessed from the cover, this new book includes options for playing as the Lumineth Realm-lords and more within its pages.

New Archetypes mean new quick ways to dive into the game and try adventuring from a different perspective. Included within the book you'll find...
- Introduction: An introduction to using Champions of Order in your game.
- The Soulbound: An expanded look at the Soulbound and their history, details on the mysterious Binding ritual that links the heroes’ souls together, and tables filled with sample Short- and Long-term Goals for your hero.
- Archetypes and Factions: This chapter contains new Archetypes, as well as rules for playing sub-factions such as Stormcast Eternal Stormhosts, Sylvaneth Glades, Khainite Temples, and Fyreslayer Lodges.
- Talents and Miracles: This chapter contains almost 100 new Talents and 50 new Miracles to further customise and develop your hero!
- Spells: This chapter gives spellcasters 50 devastating new spells to unleash, including a brand new Lore — the Lore of the High Peaks!
- Equipment: New Archetypes mean new equipment!
- Between Adventures: One of the most popular elements of Soulbound has been the Endeavours system, which allows players to undertake various tasks in their downtime. This chapter adds over 30 new Endeavours to choose from. As well as that, this chapter includes over a dozen new contacts players can make, from Collegiate Scholars to Kharadron Endrineers.
More options is always a good thing and I like that they've built on what's available in the core rules and starter set to deliver additional choices to players. The information on short and long -term goals plus the new Archetypes is what I am most interested in reading about. Also, the new Between Adventures section seems like a nice place to develop more tales surrounding your characters.
New Soulbound Archetype Art
In addition to the information above, we also got two new pieces of artwork showing off who you might want to play as when it comes to delving into Soulbound. We start with the Khainite Shadowstalker.
Khainite Shadowstalker Art // Cubicle 7
The Shadowstalkers, familiar to those who might have delved into Age Of Sigmar: Warcry, are brutal users of both blades and magic. Weaving these two masteries together makes them a force to be reckoned with. They are also servants of Morathi through and through so whilst they may have joined the Soulbound it would be wise to keep an eye on them all the same. You never know what their true motives may be!
For the Lumineth Realm-lords, we also have the Scinari Cathallar.
Scinari Cathallar Art // Cubicle 7
Another familiar model which has only recently been added into the mix for Warhammer: Age Of Sigmar. The Scinari Cathallar are able to harness the sorrow and negative impulses of those around them, including their own kin, to cast spells. During gameplay, they are able to use Doom to gain bonuses to their spellcasting. Whilst the world might be getting darker and more dangerous all around you, the Scinari Cathallar can use this to hopefully redress the balance.

I think the lack of detail on suitable goals, short and long term, in the core rules was a blunder. It’s the core of the XP system and the few samples provided was very disappointing. Having to pay extra for something that should be in the core rules is asking a lot.
Yes, you can make them up, but when first playing a game it helps to have numerous examples to get things started.
Party goals are simple enough, it’s the current quest, but personal goals can be tricky to define.
