Cthulhu in the Foggy Streets of London Anyone?

If your a lover of horror role play then you should be pretty excited, or indeed terrified, for this new release from Chaosium Inc. Check out the cover for Cthulhu by Gaslight 3rd Edition below...
The book contains everything you need for you to role play in the foggy streets of London, defending the might of the British Empire against the shadowy forces threatening our green and pleasant shores. Personalities, enemies, situations, extensive guides to the mythos of Cthulhu in Victorian England and much more await you.
Will you brave the fight against the darkness?
The new sherlock holmes movies by Mr Ritchie, would make a great starting recipe for a gas light adventure, just add a more mythos, to taste…
If there are roleplayers out there that have never played Call Of Cthulhu, I urge you to do so as soon as possible. It is still the best rpg setting ever but Gaslight is fantastic.
There is no dungeon bashing.. there are *gasp* actual STORIES you can become part of ..and.. *shock horror* you have to THINK to survive whilst trying to uncover clues whilst also trying to remain sane. If that does not appeal to the adventurous side of you then I’ll send a Mi-Go to collect your brain so I may study it for gamer defects.
Love that Mi-Go artwork, very creepy and cosmic. I approve.
Is that Mi-Go Ur-Go?
(Apologies if that is an old one!)
Does look good and feel like I am definitely missing out with the Chthulu thing *bashes self on head*
Guess it depends on your tastes, depends on if your missing out or not.
For me I love the Mythos so much because it’s the only damn universe that has any decent proper Aliens in it, something I am fanatically obsessive compulsive with. Everywhere else I’m just bombarded by boring bipeds and the same overused recycled 50’s and 60’s tropes – so it’s nice to delve into the mythos where aliens are usually proper weird, freaky and pissed-off things.
I really should release some multi-part plastic mythos kits oneday to balance things out a bit. /Goes Back to sleep/
I have never RPG’d Cthulu but it has always piqued my interest. I agree that it has the best “weird, freaky and pissed-off things” as http://www.beastsofwar.com/members/abstractalien/ put it.
…did it again
I do like the idea of Gaslight but I have a metric ton of 1920/30’s stuff to get through first
