This is an epic new adventure created in partnership with Critical Role which takes your adventurers from level three all the way up to level twelve. This world-spanning adventure starts in the Wastes Of Xhorhas before venturing to the oasis-city of Ank'Harel on Marquet before descending into the gloom of the Netherdeep.
"The greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. For eons, this mighty champion of the gods has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria. His name has been forgotten, as have his heroic deeds. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him."
This is the first major adventure module that goes beyond the setting books we've seen in the past. It is utterly packed with new lore and artwork describing Exandria so it's going to be an incredible resource for fans of Critical Role as well as D&D adventurers.
You'll also find new magical items within its pages and a range of creatures that you can use beyond Call Of The Netherdeep. There are also new Rival NPCs that should give your adventurers a real challenge!
It is really awesome to find myself (as a fan of Critical Role) following along as Matt Mercer's world gets added to the multiverse canon of Dungeons & Dragons. Fingers crossed that it becomes as cemented in the mythos of D&D as Dragonlance and Eberron were in days gone.
Are you going to be giving this a go?

It’ll be interesting to see them actually take a dive into the world with an adventure. I do wish WOTC would go back to crediting authors on their covers – I know the standard for big companies is not to bother any more but not to have it on the cover or anywhere on the website advert is rubbish
If it helps the folks at CR did credit the crew involved over on their blog post but yes it would be neat to see their names on the cover. “Call of the Netherdeep is co-led by our very own Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer and D&D Principal Story Architect Chris Perkins, and features additional contributions from one of Exandria’s OG contributors James Haeck (Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting & Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn). The tome is packed with gorgeous artwork including the cover art featured above by Minttu Hynninen, as well as a poster map of Ank’harel by… Read more »
It’s almost like, as a group of artists who respect the effort that goes into art, they believe in credit where credit is due ;)The fact you have to go the CR blog to find the information is sad.
Ooh this is looking to be good.
I like how the cover makes sure to mention three times its a “Critical Role” book. Lol. Very solid way to make sure they hit their sales numbers.
Should be a cool book, hopefully I can get my DM to run us through it.
