Cubicle 7 have been chatting more about their upcoming Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Imperium Maledictum roleplaying game set in the grimdark future. In their latest article, the team talk through more details about character creation after you've sworn yourself to a Patron.
Character Creation // Imperium Maledicutum
During character creation, you'll work on building your characteristics, skills, talents, equipment and other background information but one of the most important parts of making your character come to life is the addition of an Origin, Faction and Role.
Much like with Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play, this can be done by picking for yourself or letting fate decide and gaining a bit of extra experience to spend early on. I always like rolling to see what crackpot creations come to life.

There are ten different Origins for you to choose from that will give you a hint as to where your character came from but also aid you with mechanical bonuses. Your Origin also helps guide you towards the kind of career that you end up taking. You can check out the different Origins that you can pick from over on the Cubicle 7 blog!

Next up, you have Factions. Factions will change how a LOT of the core elements of your character are developed including the Characteristics, Skills and Talents mentioned earlier. There are nine for you to choose from in the core book with the likes of the Adeptus Mechanicus, Astra Militarum and Navis Imperliais in the mix. You might even get a chance to join the Rogue Trader Dynasty!
Last but not least, you have your Role. The Role is tied to your Patron and determines how you serve them when you are out there in the dark, doing their dirty work. Your Role gives you and idea of how you play the game and how you approach different situations.

You will also get access to blocks of Skills and Talents which you will be able to choose from. Maybe you approach situations like a Warrior, fighting everything that gets in your way or perhaps you might become an Interlocutor who sways people with words rather than brawn.

Character creation seems awesome and it's well worth exploring the Blog from Cubicle 7 to get your head around more of the information about the game. I am looking forward to serving some totally legitimate and above-board Inquisitor who has no shady past whatsoever.
