No social skills ?
Sounds a bit like my half-elven ranger with a 3 for charisma (I think, definitely was very low …)
He specialised in hunting undead so it worked for him.
A couple of notes :
– seeing talking heads might help us get a better idea who is talking
– there are references to text chat. Is it possible to get that visible in the stream/video as well ? Or is there no relevant stuff for us as viewers ?
– the character sheets & background as a download or link to a forum topic would be nice
I will work on some text chat views to see the rolling of dice, some of use don’t have webcams to show who’s talking plus I think we would rather the focus be on the drawings and as a sort of Podcast.
We’ll get some character sheets up too perhaps. We have 3 weeks until Ben returns from GenCon, however as a pilot episode we had a lot of fun!
It wouldn’t have to be actual images, but some sort of indicator that makes it easy to link voice & character (or DM) would help.
There are also several points in the stream/video where there is no sound at all.
It’s extremely annoying, because when combined with the lack of movement on screen it is as if the stream has frozen.
atmospheric music would sort that out. something you guys need to do anyway that.
Roll20 might be a good way to show the dice rolls, that way you can just screen capture the outputs, and you can make tokens out of the drawings on it for grid purposes.
OK guys, I am totally watching this when I get back from work – Critical Role meets Monty Python?
Oh I can’t wait to get a chance to watch, just a little later 🙂
Watched the stream – and this was just two hours of laughs. Thank you so so much for doing this. Absolutely hilarious.
And inspirational – my sentient but somewhat senile bat in the rpg I’m dm’ing is now talking like Ward! Well, as close to Ward as I can make it sound. So quite the girly squeaky Ward I guess. But Ward none the less 😀
More please!
Loved it. Looking forward to the next one. Could you turn up Faldwin’s volume next time.
nice work everyone involved. really fun game 🙂
I enjoyed watching the stream.
I would watch this IF I could see the players. This way its just not for me, even if the art is nice.
An awesome show/event thing. It’s the funniest thing ever! Please do more….
Brilliant show. The drawings add just enough character to it to make it the perfect backdrop for a night of hobby. I didn’t have trouble figuring out which character/player was doing what at all.
Looking forward to the next episode. I’m really curious now if the characters will get into the city or will just get themselves into a shed load of trouble.
[ rapturous applause ] first things first. T-shirt , “have you seen the mushroom man”, need. in fact I feel the need to ask a random stranger that very question. I’ve been pretty much begging for this to happen so I was almost as giddy as Ben when I saw this come up. was buzzing for Ben being able to exchange his GM cap for a players one. having Caesar do the art is a stroke of genius, makes you unique. has a feel of Thornwatch in its presentation. no doubt super cool. great characters, the equal of the best… Read more »
I second all of this!
I have to know, is “Boyz Night” a reference to the “Hello from the Magic Tavern” podcast?
If not I would encourage everyone with even a passing interest in comedy and fantasy to check it out!
I have listened to Magic Tavern, loved it on lunch breaks, perhaps subconsciously that’s why I went for it.
“All the secrets come out on Boyz Night!”
I really enjoyed this!
I would like to see more of this.
