Acquisitions Incorporated Find Their New Questing Buddy
July 16, 2013 by brennon
The newest addition to the Dungeons & Dragons Acquisitions Incorporated line-up has been revealed in their third video interview session. Check out the video above or if you're a little lazy the images below...
They will be joined by author Patrick Rothfuss who (I assume) will be playing Viari the dashing Rogue. He certainly seems to have impressed Jim Darkmagic with his 'v. high' charisma!
Being an author he should add a nice layer of storytelling and role-playing to the team and it will be fun seeing how they all interact on stage. Whether or not he is a fine replacement for Aoefel will be something we will have to wait for.
Has anyone read his books mentioned above?

Super excited about this even though I have no idea who Patrick Rothfuss is. The Acquisitions Inc team are always highly entertaining when they sit down at the table to play, be it in podcast form or their own kind of stage show.
It does make me wonder who else they should bring in as special guests for these sessions. Felicia Day seems like an obvious choice but I would *really* like to see Jennifer Hale try her hand at D&D 😀
Patrick is an author
Not read his stuff yet but he hosts a Google Hangout Fantasy Lit series whose name I forget
(and what happened to it btw why did it stop)
Any hoo
Was also thinking a female was about to join the party, and Rothfuss is about as far from a woman as you can possibly get
Female dwarves being an exception? 😛
IIRC like a lot of authors of the fantasy genre, Pat has a background in D&D
He will be a great replacement for Wil imho and am looking forward to seeing what happens.
I’m actually stunned it’s not Felicia Day. The first of the intern videos made me think that it would be, plus she’s good friends with Will so that made sense.
I still have no idea why Will isn’t making an appearance this year; Aoefel is such an awesome character.
Can’t wait for this year’s PAX game!
I did think it was going to be a woman this time around. As I say I haven’t really seen or heard much about this author so it’s going to be interesting seeing how he reacts to the rest of the group.
It’s probably going to be awesome regardless anyway lol.

Pat Rothfuss is great, Name of the wind and the Wise Man’s Fear are two of the best fantasy books I’ve read in recent years, up there with George RR Martin, although quite different in tone.
Rothfuss is a great choice – he’s already got a great rapport with the group. He is actually the fourth member of Acquisition Inc. in the ‘Ark of the Mad Mage’ podcast that’s currently running on the Wizard site, so I guess it’s a pretty logical choice.
I’d recommend any interested to check it out.
