Dive Into 40K Imperium Maledictum Starter Set From Cubicle 7
July 30, 2024 by brennon
Cubicle 7 is taking pre-orders for its new Starter Set for Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Imperium Maledictum. This seems like it's going to be a great entry point into their Grimdark roleplaying game of intrigue and battles in the shadows.
Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Imperium Maledictum Starter Set // Cubicle 7
This set acts as a one-stop-shop entry point into the world of Warhammer 40,000 through a different lens. Whilst Wrath & Glory focuses on the big battles and the larger-than-life exploits of Space Marines, Aeldari and beyond, Imperium Maledictum has you taking on the role of individuals who have been drafted into the service of a Patron to wage a war in the shadows, for good or ill.
For those not aware, Imperium Maledictum is mechanically different from Wrath & Glory. Whilst Wrath & Glory uses a dice pool system using d6, Imperium Maledictum uses a d100 system that will be familiar to those who have played Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play. It's also an exceptionally brutal game where death is around every corner!
Let's Play: Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay - Imperium Maledictum | Cubicle 7
At the heart of the book is The Blazing Seraph which is a dark and dangerous, Inquisitorial-themed adventure that teaches you the core rules of the game as you play. You will also get Rokarth: A Guide To The Hive which continues to build on your adventures within the Hive City of Rokarth with a mapped-out location, new places to explore, the factions at play and new mysterious characters to encounter.

The Starter Set also comes with a set of six pre-generated characters to choose from as well as rules reference sheets to help guide you through the mechanics. You also get a bunch of tokens and dice to get started.
You can get this new Starter Set digitally but if you're willing to wait, the physical set is going to be available during Q4 of 2024. Any pre-orders of the physical copy will also unlock a nice PDF version.
