An awesome job! Could you please list the paints used on the jacket? Much appreciated.
Sorry for the late reply I missed that there was a comment section here. The jacket is painted with a base mixture of P3 coal black and GW codex grey I’m not sure about the exact ratio but I would start with a 50/50 mixture and go from there. For shading I added some dark red and black into the base mixture. For highlighting I added a bit of white and yellow to the base mixture. I hope this helps.
Great, thanks for the info. The coal black (or equivalent) is just what I’ve been looking for for my PanOs …
One more question if you’d care to explain; why red for the shading? Because it contrasts the bluish of the basecoat, but isn’t as “harsh” as adding straight black to the mix? I’m asking, because on the photos I can’t really see it that well.
Oh, and congrats on the mentioning in last Turn8 – that’s why I wanted to take a look at your mini – love the Spetsnaz-y look of your Metro. 🙂
The idea as I understand it if I add a “warm” tone to the shadow it will give better contrast and depth to the “cold” base coat and will not distort the colours as much I also used red when I shaded the pants so this will add a bit to the overall harmony of the figure. To be honest I’m still a noob when it comes to colour theory so this is mostly guess work from my side 😛 Thanks I missed the last turn 8 I must check it out now. Good luck with your PanO I hope… Read more »
Will try to post something, but my painting is tectonic-slow. 🙂 Btw; do you have any plans yet for the paint scheme of the PanO? I’m looking for alternative options to the official – I especially don’t like the official fusiliers’ scheme …
