August 23, 2021 by fcostin
Consider yourself a horror fan? Enjoy the odd slasher film here and there? Last Friday is a horror board game from Ares Games, that combines hunting and social deduction that places players in the role of young campers attempting to escape the clutches of a murderer on the loose.

After a successful run since its release in 2016, the board game is getting a revised edition updating the rules and providing more heart-racing terror.
We are in peak murder season, it is the Summer of 1980! All six players must be ready to take on their next spooky challenge as five players return to the camp, and one player takes on the role as the killer - as they attempt to survive and endure the horror over the course of a weekend stay at the fancy Camp Apache.
The brand new revised edition comes right in time for Halloween. Rule changes have been made to the game to add more of an even balance against the gruesome murderer and chirpy camp kiddos. This murder has gotten smarter since 2016, and there now is a more added opportunity for the killer to get his hands on his prey at Camp Apache.
Components and Game Setup // Last Friday
Along with the new updates to the rules, Ares Games have confirmed updates to the cover art too, bringing the art style into the modernised theme of 2021.
Last Friday Revised Edition takes 2-6 players into Camp Apache, where they undergo a series of chapters that will make them quake in their boots. Embracing the story layout, reading through the missions named, “Arrival at the Camp” to “The Chase”, “The Massacre” and “The Final Chapter”, players will make their way through fear and tension. Each chapter lasts roughly 30-40 minutes - depending on if you have a max party or not - and would be perfect to play out as part of a Halloween Games Night. Spooky!
There is a wide range of different chapters included in the Revised Edition, with several different outcomes depending on what chapter is chosen. But, just to ensure that there are no bored players, if the murderer does indeed get their own way and kill somebody in the woods, that character will return as a new character at the next chapter to ensure replayability in content.
Last Friday is set to release this September coming, so if you are looking for a great story-driven horror game that will be incredibly entertaining for Halloween, be sure to check it out.
