Spider-Man Fights Doc Ock In Crisis Protocol’s Rival Panels Kit
September 6, 2021 by brennon
Atomic Mass Games have been putting together a new set of kits to celebrate the rivalries of the Marvel universe. The first of these Rival Panels features Spider-Man Vs Doctor Octopus with new 40mm miniatures and a diorama to frame them.

The new Rivals Panels pack is going to be available towards the end of this year and comes with the aforementioned alternative miniatures for both Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus. The miniature for Spider-Man was already pretty dynamic but this new option is rather awesome too. I like that they've made Doc Ock more animated though, leaping forward on his mechanical arms to crush Spider-Man.

As well as the new miniatures, you'll also get foil versions of their character cards, team tactic cards and that rather impressive looking terrain feature too. It would be a nice way to display all of your Marvel: Crisis Protocol collection but could also be worked into a larger project too.

A nice, fun option for those who are deep into their Marvel: Crisis Protocol collection and probably have everything already! I could see these Rival Panels making good gifts in particular. I now want to see a battle report where Spider-Man takes on Doctor Octopus solo in some collapsing facility. Someone make it happen!
Are you tempted by this new Rivals Panels kit and which characters would you like to see duke it out in the future?
"...which characters would you like to see duke it out in the future?"
With all the heroes and villains they haven’t got to yet I don’t understand why they want to re do characters they have done already ….
I’m sure they won’t be slowing down doing new heroes and villains – this is just more of a celebratory set.
Money. But yeah, I feel you… I thought the starter set was a great deal at first, but seeing the mini’s they’ve been releasing of late, I already considered Doc Oc (not to mention spidey) a missed oppertunity for some cool posing. They already did a better Spidey, which I neede to get if I wanted Black Cat. This Doc Oc is fantastic, but I don’t really feel like shelling out for a 3rd spidey sculpt and a load of scenery I have no use for. There’s a better Iron Man now. a better spidey and black widow from the… Read more »
This may relate to them being featured in a movie coming out a week or so before Christmas.
Because in addition to being a game, it’s also a hobby and there is already pretty decent demand for resculpts of their older models. I for one am thrilled to be getting this as it’s a chance to have a cooler Doc Oc to paint.
Possibly because those are the best sculpts of those characters they’ve done.
That’s a nice set.
Do me a Grey Hulk – from the Todd MacFarlane years and a Professor Hulk from the Gary Frank years and I will buy all of this.
I have talked (on pretty much everyone news items regarding Crisis) that I am sooooo tempted to buy it, extra themed Hulks would tip me over.
If they did Worldbreaker Hulk and the Warbound? Plus Skarr, A-Bomb Red She-Hulk? I’d be so there
They might be capitalizing on new Spider-Man movie having Doctor Octopus.
Great figures to add to marvel games.
I want that for Star Wars Legion! Put Vader and Luke on Bespin! Put General Klanker and Obi Wan on a landing plattform. YODA AND THE EMPEROR!
Do it!
The set looks great but, i’m not sure i want to look at the price!
I like this idea. A wolverine vs Sabretooth set? Venom vs Carnage? Daredevil vs Kingpin? Hell yeah!
Hulk Vs the Abomination, Hulk Vs Red Hulk, Hulk Vs The Thing….
You can see where I am going with this yeah?
The idea isn’t bad. Capturing both the gaming and painting/comic book audiences at once. I’m not sure if we need yet another spiderman and doc Octopus from practically the same universe. It’s as if they realise that they’re running out of ideas *eh* I mean ‘popular characters’ that everyone wants so they need to hide that they’re already scraping the barrel … At least … I think they’ve released everyone I’ve heard about already and they’re now deep into B- and C-list territory with heroes and villains that only comic book fans will know. Then again … the superhero comic… Read more »
And where’s the greatest octopod throwdown of all times, Doc Ock vs. Iron Spider?
The Doc Oc and Spider-Man sculpts from the core set were in sore need of an update, so this is awesome. Especially with how into the painting I’ve gotten I can’t wait to have a cool display piece to paint up. This also teases the idea of over “rivals” sets and that is really exciting.
