Joey McGuire's Post-Apocalyptic 28mm skirmish game is coming back with a new edition. World End Publishing is working with Black Site Studio to get you back to the tabletop in This Is Not A Test.
This Is Not A Test 2nd Edition // Black Site Studio
The pre-orders for This Is Not A Test and the new edition are available from today as part of the Black Site Studio Backroom. You can get your hands on the new Rulebook alongside a selection of miniatures, terrain and more for enhancing your games. First of all, some background on This Is Not A Test...
"The great armed conflict known as the End War ravaged the world for years but came to its devastating conclusion in just seconds. In the aftermath of the nuclear attacks, remembered as the Great Fall, the United States was left a scarred wasteland. Millions died, polite society collapsed and scientific knowledge was lost in a forest of mushroom clouds. But hey, it’s not all bad. You and your fellow survivors live in the Tri-State Wasteland, an unforgiving land of mutants, lost technology and as much opportunity as danger. In this new world anyone can make their own destiny. But it's not easy and you better have grit, cunning, and a willingness to get a little dirty. This is the world of This Is Not a Test, a 28mm skirmish wargame set in a post-apocalyptic United States where warbands fight for survival, power and greed in the wastes."
This comes together in a new edition which has been tweaked and reworked to take what made the first edition great but enhance it even further. Games can be played in as little as an hour with a fun activation system ensuring back-and-forth play between those involved. There are also many, many scenarios to give into and full campaign rules so you can dive into long-form storytelling at the tabletop as your gangs grow and evolve. As well as dealing with each other, you'll also have to face down the various wasteland creatures present in the bestiary and more.
This Is Not A Test - Miniatures // Black Site Studio
There are lots of different factions for you to choose from as well including raiders, mutants, caravanners, tribal warriors, the Preservers and the wasteland rangers known as the Peacekeepers. All of these factions can be enhanced with an array of mutations, skills, abilities and equipment.
Joey McGuire also talked about what's new for This Is Not A Test over on the Black Site Studio website HERE. You can read more there but it's an essential tidy-up of the old rules to make for a better experience as well as new statistics, and new options for your warbands. It seems like a properly nice overhaul of the game and it all comes with the added beautification of the rules thanks to Black Site Studio.
This Is Not A Test Skirmish // Black Site Studio
The Backroom campaign running from this weekend over on the Black Site website features ways for you to get your hands on the rulebook and a host of accessories as well as two Starter Warbands for you to choose from.
Lawmen // This Is Not A Test
You can get your hands on the Lawmen for example if you'd like to try and preserve some sense of order in the wasteland. Or, you can go wild and embrace the Mutants as your faction of choice. I guess when the wasteland is going to kill you anyway, you might as well go all-in and become a Mutant so you can have some fun before you die.
Mutants // This Is Not A Test
Black Site are also working on a range of terrain for your games. This means that if this is your first time diving into This Is Not A Test, you'll be able to pick up everything that you need to get started.
Biscuit Box Terrain - Pre-Painted // Black Site Studio
Because this is one of their Backroom pre-orders, Black Site are also going to be introducing more and more bonus miniatures and such into the mix as people make their orders. Special bases, full faction packs and some fun personalities are on the way.

This is great, I love the first edition of TNT. Played some many games had to retire a few gangs that survived to rule the wasteland and start news ones.
