Mighty Asgardians PLUS S.H.I.E.L.D VS Hydra In Marvel: Crisis Protocol

Atomic Mass Games dropped a bunch of good news for Star Wars: Legion fans last week. The weekend also had them offering up even more good news in the form of brand new packs of characters coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. We start with their awesome 40mm Asgardian miniatures!
Heimdall // Marvel: Crisis Protocol

The first of the miniature sets brings together two awesome characters. Defend the Rainbow Bridge and blast across the Realms with Heimdall! An awesome and stoic miniature and I absolutely love the rainbow effect on the shimmering field of energy that surrounds him.
Heimdall is then matched up with Skurge. He has been both hero and villain in his day armed with his mighty axe.

I know it probably isn't comic book accurate but it would have been funny to see him with a "bunch of stuff" and the option to give him two assault rifles. I reckon his Asgardian strength and that axe will probably put most foes in the ground.
If you're looking for an awesome villain to throw into your campaigns then you can also bring forth the mighty Malekith!

The mighty Dark Elf and foe of Thor is going to be summoning forth his terrible beasts to do battle with the Asgardians on the tabletop. I wonder what kind of villains (or heroes) you could bring into battle alongside him?
The sets above is then joined by the new Asgardians Affiliation Pack from Atomic Mass Games. This offers up four Asgardian heroes for a little bit of a discount on buying their separate sets.

It's neat to see this being thought up for the game as it means that, if this continues, we'll see more kits that act as entry points to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Rather than hunting out the right hero combinations, someone could snap this up and just get stuck right in with a bunch of their favourite characters.
S.H.I.E.L.D VS Hydra!
Another clash is lined up for later in the year as brand new sets come together to showcase the clash between S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra on the tabletop. You can see some of the sets detailed here in this video...

The sets for this are as follows! Leading the way, we have Captain America and the Original Human Torch!
Original Human Torch & Captain America // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
What's quite funny about this set is that it includes two characters that have been played by the same actor. Both of these heroes are from older battlefields, having been thrust into the superhero world during World War II. Who wouldn't want these two on their side?
Helping them in their task, we also have Nick Fury Sr and the Howling Commandos.

Another fun set that would be great for those wanting to play out those early days of superhero kickassery. Send them and Steve Rogers into the heart of a Hydra compound and watch it explode in all manner of brilliant colours.
Going up against them, Red Skull and the Hydra Commandos will be taking to the battlefield but we haven't got a properly nice photo of those miniatures yet. So, you'll have to make do with the bonus back of villains that are on the way in the form of Baron Strucker & Arnim Zola.

There are some really fun miniatures coming later this year for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. A lot of this is lined up for around the Q3 period of this year so you won't have long to wait. I think it would be awesome to start having a pop at some cool scenarios for both collections.
Perhaps we could play out an Asgardian assault on Earth as Hela has twisted the minds of Thor, Loki and Valkyrie. Will the Avengers be able to hold them off? The other story writes itself. It would be great to have a proper S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra clash on the tabletop.
Are you going to be snapping up these sets?

Funnily enough Ben the two Assault Rifles was cannon, the movie did capture his end correctly though it wasn’t defending the ship at Ragnarok but a Bridge, against the forces of Set Rather than Hera. The assault rifles had been part of an unofficial camps side trade between bog standard Asgqardian and Human soldiers when the Asgard had helped midgard during and invasion.
Oh well that’s very cool indeed – even more of a shame that he doesn’t have them!
And its nice to see you survived the plague .
It is about time they started doing these Affiliation Packs. I just wish there were six and not four. I might get the X-men if they come in this package configuration.
Sorry Ben, the Original Human Torch was an android that was part of the Invaders team, along with Cap during WWII
The Johnny Storm Human Torch, of the Fantastic Four, is totally separate character, even if they had similar power sets.
Yup think Johnny Storm actually says he is like the Human Torch it in the origin story of the FF
Great looking figures is Dr Zola hiding from some green ninja expert’s?
Those look really good.
