Home Raiders Return As TTCombat Bring Back The Starter Box
January 16, 2017 by dracs
TTCombat have released the starter set for Home Raiders, the 1:1 scale skirmish game where factions of tiny soldiers invade your house.
Created by David Esbri, TTCombat picked up Home Raiders along with Carnevale after Vesper-On sadly had to close their doors.
This starter set is the same as the one created by Vesper-On through Kickstarter, providing players with a faction of Gremlins, a faction of New Lilliputians, and all the various dice and stat cards you need to play the game.
I am really happy to see Home Raiders return. Its simplicity and use of everyday objects as scenery made it the perfect gateway game, especially for younger players.
I really hope that this is a sign that TTCombat will soon be bringing out more goodies to support this game, both old and new. However, while they have done a fantastic job redesigning the Carnevale figures I rather hope they stay with the original models for Home Raiders. They have a cartoony character that I absolutely love.
Do you want TTCombat to bring out new versions of these characters or would you rather they kept to the game's originals?

It was as a sad day when Vesperon announced they were switching the lights off for the last time. I’m so glad that Troll Trader picked up the rights to their games and it’s great to see that they producing Homr Raiders too. I was worried they might let this IP fall by the wayside in favour of Carnevale.
Very happy to see. My Kickstarter has a hallowed space on our set.
Good I’ve been waiting to see what was going to happen with this game.
I never got my Kickstarter for some reason. Shame but no matter, I have enough to paint as it is.
i have copy stu if you want we can give it a go.
Maybe one day. I’m not overly bothered. I was just mentioning that my KS never arrived. I only lost £45 on it so no matter.
thats odd I got mine just fine.
I messaged them after the company folded about it and they promised to send me my pledge but nothing happened. Maybe it got lost in the post, twice.
Hoping that they keep the cartoonish look and bring out the Lords of Dust (penquins): I couldn’t manage them financially in the kickstarter.
I got the full kickstarter but haven’t done anything with it yet. It’s still sat on my shelf 🙁
Awesome, wonder if we will see the return and expansion for the other two factions?
good to hear I hope they will do better quality moulds and metal because what vesper on guys did was a joke.
I’m very pleased to hear this. I was wondering if this game was going to just disappear. Good to hear that that isn’t the case.
Good to see Home Raiders will be continued as well. I got the box in the kickstarter campaign and love the models, especially the gremlins and their ragmen. They’re way too characterful not to fall into more people’s hands.
Good to hear. Reminds me that my KS stuff is still not painted, another one for this year’s todo list.
This is one of the more original games from the past few years. Delighted to see it riding again!
TT should do a good job. I got the kickstarter and was a bit disappointed with the models – the models were made of a brittle alloy which snapped at the ankles very, very easily. Also a lot of the Gremlin models were rather squished, almost 2D-ish. A problem with producing the masters from the 3D files I would imagine. I was OK as this was a kickstarter and i took a risk for not much money, butvmy copy at least of the kickstarter was nit retail quality. Hopefully TT can rectify these issues easily and take the game forwards… Read more »
the monkey guys look brilliant.
I’ve enjoyed my KS copy + Fair Folk. Models are characterful and painted up well. The game plays simply and quite smoothly, too. TT looks like they are doing a good job with Carnevale, especially with their terrain thrown in. Home Raiders is a terrain-less system, though, if they stick with the original intent. May be a harder sell for them as just a standalone game.
I’ve had some serious interest in Carnevale being rebooted mainly for the TT terrain. Not sure if I would have picked up Home Raiders outside of Kickstarter.
I thought there was no point in learning to play this as it seemed dead before I’d finished painting my models. I hope they develop it, and improve the model quality some. I don’t mind the art style, but the models need a little more definition to them.
As someone who bought in to the Fair Folk just to finally add a dragon to my collection of models, I’m still waiting for the dragon riders to be released for this!
