About the Project
You know the drill, you`r going to "TEST" this new game in your local gamestore, befor the Demo you don´t know if you would like it, after the demo you miss alot of money in your pocket. Long story short, I´m starting with Age of Sigmar, I love the Nighthaunts in the new box, but everyone will play it, so I´ve decided "Jocke, you´ve never played Elves or anything like that in any game you´ve played, so why not try something like that?". I´ve now got a "Start Collecting Sylvaneth" Box, the Battletome, Path of Glory and the Skirmish rules. So, let´s do a project, shall we?

After the first games
Okay, did my first 3 games today in the Path to Glory campaign, lost all. Afterthoughts: The Dryads are a usefull tarpit and the Treelord is a beast. The Branchwych is kinda “Meh” for a General, but I think I get used to her.
After the games I did some priming and airbrushwork on my Tree Revenants and my Kurnoth Hunter, and I knew, I need more of them.
I primed them again with AP Necrotic Flesh and did some browns and greens with the Airbrush. After that I mixed some blue with white and hit the Revenants with a light glow effect, worked very well.
Next Batch
Back from shopping with my next batch for the Sylvaneth.
Wyldwood
Finished my Wyldwood, it was a fun and quick projekt, will add some more Citadel Woods in the future.
A quick Update
So, I finished Painting the Branchwych and the Dryads, only need to finish basing right now. That will be wrap up my Start Collecting Sylvaneth Box.
Right now I´m waiting for my Kurnoth Hunters, also I will paint up an Citadel Wood as a Sylvaneth Wyldwood. After that, there is a small box with Stormcast Eternals for another Project. Stay tuned.
A big Tree
I´ve finished my Treelord, it was a very fun paintjob to do. The beauty of the Sylvaneth is, you can paint quick and dirty, nobody cares, I´s nature!
Testing the color scheme (With the biggest mini I have)
Okay, this was fun, I love experimenting with colors, but I shouldn´t use the Treelord for testing. This time I got lucky and the scheme looks awesome. Next time I should try this with a Dryad.
Priming and Shading (Airbrush)
I primed with a rattle can of Army Painter Necrotic Flesh. After that I shaded with different brownish and greenish colors with my Airbrush.
The shading was simple, from light to dark in different angles, this will provide a natural look for the Sylvaneth.
Building is finished
Okay, the Dryads where a piece of cake, but that Treelord, damn what a puzzle.
So I finished to build the Start Collecting Box and have to say “Yes, I like these sculpts”
Next Up: Priming and Painting
For the priming I will use the same color as I used on my Nurgle Fleet, Army Painter Necrotic Flesh. It will provide me with a light green color to build up on and getting darker for the Ironbark.
It´s all about the Base!
Trying some new tools (again from Greenstuffworld) for my bases. The texturing rolling pin is a lot try & error, first I used it with Milliput and creating a total mess, decided to go with greenstuff, it was a lot easier.
Pro Tip: Grease up your rolling pin and the putty you would use it on, also go slow with the rolling pin.
First attempts where okay, but next time I´ll try to make them better.
What is Ironbark?
After me digging through the Sylvaneth Background and decide to go with the Ironbark Wargrove, I actually ask myself “What is Ironbark? Is this a real thing?” and in the matter of facts, it is.
Quote of Wikipedia: Ironbark is a common name of a number of species in three taxonomic groups within the genus Eucalyptus that have dark, deeply furrowed bark.
So, okay… I do a bunch of Eucalyptus Tree-Folk, damn, I need some tiny Koala Bears (Just kiddin, I don´t do tiny Koala bears… okay… perhaps one, for fun)
The Original Ironbark will give me a color scheme for my force of Sylvaneth.
First Step and Research
After I´ve overlooked the Battletome my first question was: What Wargrove do I want to build.
After a little bit of research I´ve decided for the Ironbark Wargrove. I like the Idea of the Sylvaneth and the Duardin working together (and in the future I can build and paint some dwarfs, awesome).
