My Entry for Celestial Genesis Masters Painting Invitational 2018. Zhurong - The Overlord of the Eternal Flame "Fire is a strong element, element of both creation and destruction. After corruption brought by Sea of Consciousness, some Celestials were forced to last stand. Zhurong, the strongest of the Guardians believe that her destiny is to restore order to Celestials, and that is exactly what she will do, by any means necessary. Gathering the power from within emotions, rage, sadness, torment brought to her race, Zhurong is restoring the once sacred ground of Pan Gu's domain in hope to bring back some order and make a firm stronghold to protect what is left..." Sometimes less is more. I had in mind to bring story closer to viewers by using only hand brush. So for my special effect (that some of you have been waiting to see) i have sculpted little organic laser orb that serve as a item that restores the once sacred-now corrupted ground. Laser orb makes the power pattern on the ground that drain the corruption to vanish and manipulate the time and material's existence in the way Celestials did long time ago.

As you can notice. From the first step I already have clear vision what relections ges where on the metal.1. First spet is sketching. After painting different metal shapes and surfaces, I have clear idea how reflections and lights will behave. Sometimes even not going into realistic approach, but more fun and artistic. 2.After sketching, there is refining. Adding and subtract. Blending on the places where contrast is softer, leaving hard reflections on the places where contrast is stronger. 3. For the end, adding details, strongest light, on some edges, folding. Defining and explaining shape with strong light reflection on it. Defining strong still surface with hard reflecting light. Zhurong - The Overlord of the Eternal Flame
