About the Project

Back several years ago I fell in love with a Forge World tank I could not afford at the time. I now have the ability to get one, but low, Forge World no longer makes them. The stats exist in the Imperial Armour - Index: Forces of The Astra Militarum, but they no longer have it listed on their site. Low I searched the "interwebs" and found there were a few people who made their own. This is mine and there will be another 2 I am building, but this is the first one. Not the picture for this project is an actual FW photo from one of the Imperial Armour books.

Auto cannon added to the tank and final details needed before paint.  Unfortunately I am in the process of moving houses and all my paints are at the new location, so paint will be several weeks away from now.

Here are some shots of the tank once I had finished adding on the pintle mount and the tracks on to the tank [as well as some chaos markings as this will be a part of my Renegades and Heretics force].

After finishing with the core structure, I used 0.5 mm plasticard to make some edging and add a few bits of detail.  Then I cut off rivets from some of the unused parts of the Chimera kit and glued them on to the areas that needed them.  I have been accused of being crazy in that, but I wanted to make sure the rivets were the same size as the rest of the model.

My first couple shots here show the process of filling out the crew compartment.  I added a lower plate for the crew area and the extra lip for the weapon mount area as well as starting the armored side walls for the crew compartment.  This was all done with 1.5 mm plasticard. I could have gone with a thicker card and in my next attempt I will likely use 2 or even 3 mil plasticard for extra support.

To begin, I found most people were using the Chimera kit from Games Workshop as the basis for them.  The picture here is from Spikey Bits and shows the only parts of the Chimera they used in their project.

They are the most important parts for this project, but the tracks and some of the other bits like the hull mounted weapon and hatches are also used
