Thanks for all the great guesses as to the Legion I chose, everything from “piss off” to “you suck”, and “porcupine”. So random.

Well, I can now reveal the test colours for my Sons of Horus! Adding to the AK3 Astral Beryllium was a GW Contrast of Aeldari Emerald.
AK3 Black for studded shoulder pad.
AK3 Mint Green for armour highlight.
AK3 Mint Green + AK3 Greenish White for final armour highlight.
AK3 Granite for gun, backpack parts, and base between feet.
GW Contrast Ratling Grime over the Granite, not on the base though.
AK3 Greenish White for eyes base.
GW Contrast Magmadroth Flame for eyes.
Vallejo Brass for the studs on the shoulder pad.

Simple as that!

And we’re off! Priming and first coat.

All the marines from sprue 1 (of 2) are now on nails, and here they are getting a primer of Vallejo Panzer-gray-black, followed by a lighter almost dusting of AK3 Astral Beryllium. I used a SATA 0.3mm airbrush for this work.

The Astral will be a base for a contrast paint, and will get the models done less details.

Any guesses as to the Legion I’m painting?

Day 0-3; cleaning my hobby space, organizing my paints.

Legions Imperialis and Manufactorum boxes. More will be added.

Astartes to start. Mounting individual models on small panel nails. I used this method when painting Micro-Armour. More work, works great.
