About the Project

I've long harbored designs on creating a ruleset for a Fantasy Arthurian skirmish game and i've been tinkering with ideas for years now. Its never really gone anywhere as i'd always wanted to find a decent set of models to use and never found them. That was until OTT featured Daniel Mersey's Temple of The West 'Knights of The Round Table' Kickstarter one week and suddenly my search was over! Unfortunatley at the time of my discovery i'd missed the KS campaign but after emailing them they very kindly agreed to pledge as a late backer. Phew. Now they have finally arrived (and they are amazing!) im very keen to get them painted. Its been a looooong time since ive assembled and painted metal minis so it should be interesting! I'd like to get these done quickly so i aim to use mainly speedpaints on this endevour. Im still working out how to get the best out of them for my style of painting so im hoping to also try some different experiments as i go. Apologies for the crazy layout, theproject system was have a moment when i set it up and i seem to have loads of entries!

First up , its the tracherous and cowardly Sir Meleagent! First up , its the tracherous and cowardly Sir Meleagent!

Whilst I was relatively happy with outcome I wanted to give the model a bit more detail. So i gave it a a Brainmatter Biege drybrush and then washed with a 50/50 red on the cloth and shield and dark tone on the metals.

For the basing I’d found some nice coloured flock at the SELWG show I went to in October. The company was called ‘Debris of War’ and they had nice cheap bags of coloured flock which I’m hoping to use to differentiate the factions. As Sir Meleagant is a baddie, he gets the purple. Also I used Stirland mud to blend the puddle into the base.

Sir Galahad, the perfect knight Sir Galahad, the perfect knight

Like Sir Meleagent before him im going to try to give the model a little more depth with a drybrush and some washes before basing in the DOW ‘daisy flock’

The Poisonous Sir MarhaultThe Poisonous Sir Marhault

Now Sir Marhault is supposed to have a poisoned blade so i painted it green originally and then planned to dry brush silver over it to give it a hint of green.

Now at this point i should mention i wasnt particularly happy with th wat he was turning out. I should point out the id sprayed this model with a gloss white to see what efeect it would have using speedpaint. Short answer its naff, dont bother and stick to matt white. Also i'd used a darker skin tone than i had originally intended an i wasnt happy with the way it was sitting so i opted for the nuclear option. DETTOL! and started again. Now at this point i should mention i wasnt particularly happy with th wat he was turning out.
