Flag-waving Turd Mounds

I did the main body of these things with Snakebite Leather to tie them in to the fungi.  This made them unfortunately look like jobbies.  The stalks were painted in Xereus Purple and the sails were painted with Warplightning.

I did all the green bits in Creed Camo. I know all my space plants are green but I’m a bitch for chlorophyll.  The teeth were done with Imperial Fist.  The fleshy part was done with Volupus Purple.

Snaky-tendril doofers

I did the bottom of the plants with Creed Camo. I still wanted green for the stems, so I used Militarum Green, which is similar, but different (and a bitch to shake up). The flowers are Sigvald Burgundy and the horrible tongue things were done with Frostheart.

Toothy Stalks and Chitinous Tendrils

The tooth stalks were quick and easy.  The main body was done in Creed Camo and the teeth were done in Imperial Fist.

The chitinous tendrils were also quick and easy. I did the bottom in Snakebite Leather and the coiled lobster stalk in Flesh-Tearers Red.

For these whatever-they-are I started with the teeth, which I painted with Imperial Fist contrast.  The sails were done in Leviathan purple.  The flesh of the plant was done in Creed Camo. The stems of the flowers (anthers?) were done in Snakebite Leather to tie them in with the fungi. And finally for the club like parts of the flowers I used Volupus Pink.

Its all about the base

These were zenithalled like the rest. The more leafy looking ones were done in Creed Camo and the smoother ones were done in Snakebite Leather.

I did the rest of the fungus trees in the same manner as the first lot. Inquisitor for scale in the second picture.

Weird Stalk bits

I painted up the vine-like roots in the same way as the ones on the pineapples. For the top of the bulbous bits I used Sigvald Burgundy, for the lower part of the bulb I used Creed Camo. For the centre stalk I wanted to tie them in to the fungus trees so I used Snakebite Leather.

Weird Stalk bits

For the fan toppers I used Creed Camo on the leafy parts. For the fan I used Kroxigor Scales.

Fungoid trees

I started with a zenithal prime again. I did the bark/flesh in snakebite leather. For the caps on the mushroom parts I used Xereus purple, Blood Angels red  Fleshtearers red and Sigvald burgundy.

Giant pineapple ferns

I started by painting the “fruit” with volupus  pink contrast. I gave them 2 coats for a more even look. I then overbrushed the leaves with white to brighten them back up. I then went over the teeth with imperial fist yellow and the leaves with creed camo.  I repeated this on the leaves on the base and the topper.

On the base there’s these little club things. I imagined these were runners on a spider plant so I painted them in the same way as the body. For the club things on the topper I used frostheart to represent flowers.

So I started by cleaning up the mould lines and by widening the magnet holes with a drill. Some of the holes had shrunk a bit so I needed to widen them. I then added magnets (making sure they were all oriented the same way).

Next I started to do a zenithal prime on some of the pieces, but had to stop because the rain started.
