Leman Russ, Vanquisher cannon " Steel dog alpha"Captain Obadiah Schfeer famed tank ace of the 254th Varolian regiment.
Schfeer was originally conscripted from the squalid streets of the fanatically theocratic world of Varoli Secundus. He rose through the ranks and eventually reached Captain, commanding the tank company of one of his homeworld's regiments in six successful campaigns. However it was during the sixth campaign that he showed signs of stress and mental instability. After a night engagement against anti-Imperial rebels where he lost four tanks, Obadiah ordered a near suicidal attack against a strong defensive position but in the end managed to destroy the enemy's bunkers and artillery. Following this success he mounted a large speaker on his tank and used it to issue orders and shout encouragement to his men as well as blasting military music to the enemy as his unit advanced. Though long exposure to the horrors of war had unhinged him, he has since regained his composure and his men follow him willingly and continue to win battles. His tactics seem to work, and he inspires his men to reckless bravery. He was named "Crazy" Obadiah, by his men. His personal tank of choice is a Gryphonne IV-pattern Leman Russ Vanquisher, nicknamed Steel Dog AlphaHeavy weapons squad
I bought the old heavy weapons squad kit, the date on the sprue is 2003. I put a spare head from the new 2022 shock trooper. Had to trim the neck a little. But i think its not to bad a fit. Seeing as there's 20 years nearly between the body and the head

Piddling in puddles
Step 1 texture paint and a wash once the texture paint is dry. Slight error i used seraphim sepia not earth shade
Step 2, base for the puddle. In this case a green for toxic waste of a future battlefield 
Step 3 some gloss varnish, i used nurgle's rot to add to the toxic feel Evolution of the guard

The sentinel is plug and play, and the armoured section can be built to easily switch in and out depending what version you wish to use

After making an error with the shade i reapplied the texture paint and applied the correct shade
