Built on the edge of Exmoor in the 12th century by William of Wrotham , the steward of Exmoor. To protect the silver mining in the area. it was original a motte and bailey castle. it was passed down through the family via his nephews side , who up dated its defences to stone by the late 15th century. The castle staying in the Worthham family’s hands until the civil war of 1642 -1651.

When it was slighted by Cromwell’s troops

By the mid 18th century the castle had been rebuilt and remodelled into a manor house. Then in the mid 19th century the house had been taken over by the society and enlarged.

anyone take advantage of you ever again.

Once per mystery you can make a MANIPULATION test to create an NPC who is situated in the area, and who you have met before. The Gamemaster decides how she has changed since you last met, and what she thinks of you now. If the test fails, she is either hostile or in great need of your help.
