Week Six - Bigger is Better

It’s the last week and time to swap out the regular old Gustave for the new and improved Legen-wait for it-dary version.

The big guy is an upgrade over the plastic starter set with more guns, more abilities and the same amount of legs, but you can’t have everything.

First off I made a base and set about changing the legs to have my creepy be more crawly, I’ve used the positioning of leaning to one side to make the gatling gun target off to one side making it more dynamic.

All the base steel is done with the true metallic sky-earth chrome look. Now I’ve just got to throw on some gold and details and we’re all done bar the basing.

This week I’m adding three K9 gun dogs, Chris has advised me to use gatling guns….but, there are four dogs between the two boxes so if I make all of them I can have two gatling guns and two flamers.

I had thought to magnetise, but I don’t have the time to so Whatever the majority on the table will be the weapon of choice for that game 🙂

Still experimenting with Sky Earth Chrome effect using metallics. it adds a bit more interest to the mini

A quick and nasty brass effect on some of the banding by a yellow contrast paint to add a bit more contrast to the metallics and bar the basing we’re done!

No we’re getting John Younger a man who won’t just lend a pair of hands when he can lend two pairs!

Same plan for John as I had for the Constructed Henchmen, muted cloth, multicoloured skin tones and pale hair mmmm mmmm mmmm

On to some chaff and additional shooting, enter the Constructed Henchmen!

Five walking Manchines with guns for arms, I’ve decided to keep this relatively simple, five shirt colours and three for the trousers. Simplicity is key so I can move on in relatively short order. Also going for muted and faded cloth and based on the box art all their hair will be pale as if the reanimation process bleached it.

started to work on how I was going to do the basing and I’m not happy, so I’m pushing on and I’ll experiment with the basing find something I’m content with and then base them all at the end.

So everything is built and primed, now I just need to get to painting.

Despite not being a uniformed faction I do want to tie them together with a unifying colour palette, most will be metallics and muted regular clothing but I’ve decided on a violet as a spot colour that will work on both the alive and the more than alive.

Back once I start to get colour down on them.
