Step 10: A Legendary Commander
This one was really fun to paint, tons of details and a nice chunky feel.
I will admit I could have done way more to this version of Tesla but I wanted to get him table ready.
Step 9: More Meat For The Grinder
Next up is another little grindy one for me with another five union troopers, this time without the nice rifles, I wonder if the stores are running dry?
Step 8: Bring out The Big Guns
Now these I enjoyed painting, and I think their gonna add some real kick to the force.
Step 7: Sniper Time
This week I’m working on Bernard Hopkins, I’m looking forward to getting him on the table to see just who among Gerry’s Enlightened he can pop.
Step 6: Adding Some firepower
Time to get the first expansion in, and its the Armoured Riflemen, these guys are gonna give me a little extra kick on the table and give me another option to grab up objectives.
Step 5: The Bikes
I’ve saved the Iron Eagles for the end of this segment of the force for one simple reason, I’ve been looking forward to painting and playing with them and I though having them as the last ting to paint would motivate me to finish up.
One thing I did “try” to do on these is some basic scratching to break up the flat panels.
Step 4: The Troops
Time for the stumbling block of any army for me, I always get ground down painting essentially the same mini over and over, but there’s only 9 mini’s total so it shouldn’t be too bad for this one.
Step 3: The faces
Ok, let’s get stuck in, Union Belle & Carl Fredrickson are a bit on the smaller side so I’m doing them at the same time, Belle will keep to the Union uniform colours but Carle I can play about with a little as he’s also a part of the Lawman faction.
Step 2: The Boss
I’m gonna kick off with Tesla, he’s a big mini and my thinking is getting him down first will let me see how and where to use my colours across the force. He was an interesting build and I’m happy enough with the lightning.
Step 1: Picking the colours
First things first, I want to pick all my colours and try to stick to them for the entire force. I’m thinking I need to make the force pop but keep the scheme simple so I can keep pace with building & painting.
