About the Project

The ORKA sets sail from Enmity Island with its plucky crew of misfits and maniacs, looking to bag the biggest, meanest fish they can find. For my series of videos for Orktober 2021, I’m creating dioramas that explore the question: What do Orks get up to when they aren’t at WAAAGH!!!? For this project, I want to create an Ork version of the famous Orca fishing boat from Jaws, and build a diorama that reimagines Quint's last stand against the famous shark.

This Project is Completed

Turning a Vietnam-era PBR into a shark-hunting fishing boat for ORKS!

Jaws is my favourite movie of all time, and I’ve always wanted to own an Orca model kit. I was never able to find one in the shops, so I figured it was high time I made one for myself!

I could’ve done a straight copy of the Orca, but I figured with it being Orktober, I could have a bit of fun and make it an ORKA instead!

Main components of the build:

  • Hull and cabin from a Tamiya 1/35 PBR (Patrol Boat River) kit
  • Gun from a Tamiya 88mm GunFlak37 kit
  • Toy megalodon from Amazon
  • Coffee stirrers
  • Bamboo skewers
  • About half a kilo of random stuff from my bits box!

In this first update, I’m sharing the early images of the build process.

Adding the boat, orks, debris and fish to the diorama board along with half a brick of clay!
