About the Project

Moonstone was tempted to me by Gerry, and the whimsical tone and wacky characters had me sold. I was so tied with what faction to pick. The fairies look incredible... they all do. But thanks to Mr Tumnus, I do indeed have quite the soft spot for Fauns. Once I saw the Wendigo, I wanted this set. So I will be painting up and building my Faun army.

So I always tend to paint my miniatures from the legs up, and where else better to start than on the hooves?

Painting the Fauns

My most used paint set, the Vallejo Effects – Old & New Wood Effects are ideal for all types of Woodland creature.

I don’t think I paint without using one of these browns. And when you are painting a Faun… I feel brown was a best bet!

Painting the Fauns

After mixing several browns together, and highlighting with different brown tones, I wanted to still stick to light and gentle colours to stick with the whimsical side – and of course it would merely be wrong to not wait in a watercolour style.

Assembling the Fauns

I have been waiting for these little whimsical creatures for a while. Gerry has been unintentionally wearing me down, and I am so excited to get a game in. But first! I must assemble the fauns!

Assembling the Fauns

Assembly was absolutely easy, after assembling Malifaux miniatures, this was an absolute pleasure. Cutting down my assembly time to about 10 minutes and based them in my Vallejo Light Grey Primer.
