Materials
- 3mm MDF
- 25mm baton wood planks.
- Roof Felt tacks
- Screws (I had 3mm x 30mm)
- pin nails
- Superglue (and activator)
- PVA
I recently moved house and bought some fancy furniture. The MDF was legit packaging material and I found the thin wooden planks in the scrap bin at B&Q because it was warped 9 directions from Sunday.
So materials cost for me was zero but in reality you can do this for under £10

- G-Clamps
- Carpenters 45 degree angle cutting jig
- Workmate Bench
- 2mm drillbit
- Countersink drillbit

G-Clamps to keep wood flush for drilling and screwing.... task that requires a cup of tea
overkill on the screws (because the free wood was bowed)
nicely countersunk screws don't scratch tables!!!

take your tacks, a dab of superglue and get to work on the grid

for larger terrain it keeps it from the base and allows PVA to run off easily
