Alternative Armies 15mm HOTT Project

My ‘Orc Tribe’ army pack arrived from Alternative Armies and also included a free Troll model too! The ‘Orc Tribe’ set brings two more commander options, some ranked spearmen, lots of cavalry and also some beasts and a catapult to my existing Orc Army. The free troll will make a awesome behemoth as he towers over the other miniatures.

I decided to not to cram four spearmen onto a base and put three on a base instead – which is why there is a base with only two spearmen on. When I place my next Alternative Armies order, I’ll add a few of the orc spearmen so I can complete a unit 🙂

Really happy with the quality of the miniatures and they didn’t need too much clean-up. The free troll model is especially great (he’s holding a rock – not waving!).  I can’t wait to start painting this horde of miniatures and complete my Orc Army…..unless I fancy getting some of Alternative Armies goblin miniatures too 😛

I would like to off start this project by showing my fully painted 15mm ‘Orc Warhorde’ from Alternative Armies (however I still need to add some grass tufts etc). It was only after I received the unpainted models that I realised that they were dressed in attire not usually associated with Orcs. I decided to paint them up in the style of Roman/Greeks as I thought this would be a alternative way (no pun intended!) of portraying orcs and suited the sculpts.

I plan on adding further to this army with other HOTT packs that Alternative Armies produce. They contain a nice variety of models, great detail and are also a bargain in my opinion. My next purchase will be the ‘Orc Tribe’ pack to add some cavalry and other characters to this Orc Army.

I then plan on starting a new army – maybe Elves or the Undead? Or maybe Dwarves? Here are the HOTT packs that Alternative Armies currently produce:
