About the Project
Some years ago we created a Martian Army at breakneck speed to field against a WW2 Bolt Action Army. I'm now returning to the Martians to see what can be done to spice them up.

Sticking with the rural farming theme I’m digging out some fences and walls to have a play with…
Also I really really want some cows and other livestock in the mix lol
And now to spend some time playing around to see what direction I can take this.

Giant Stompy Robots of DOOOOOOOMMMMMM!
I’m basically going to follow the same steps I took with the saucer here to see how it goes…
Well that certainly spices things up a bit and adds a splash more dynamic colour to the whole thing.
Saucers!
The Saucers are quite plain. In fact they are still bare plastic, so I’m not going to have a lot of painting options here, but that won’t deter me. Again I’m going to weather them slightly I think with 50% Nuln Oil and then I want to experiment with the airbrush to make some bits glow.
So after a little playing with the airbrush, I’ve added a few white bands to the ‘tractor beam’ (I really should add a tractor lol!) and some basic glow effects.
Look I have to face the fact that I can only do what I can do skill-wise so for the moment I’m happy with this nice simple step 🙂
Line Troopers
To kick off I’m just going to experiment with a 50% nuln oil wash just to see if it pulls the minis together a little.
I’m pretty happy with that its a nice simple step, I also applied a little bit of Black contrast here and there to pick out weapons and the backpacks… I’ll come back to these later after doing a little more research on their attire…
