Good Lard last post was in February? Where did those 7 months go?

Well let’s get back to it, it’s not cause I slipped that I can’t get back to it. And admitedly I did a few games that I did not input in the said project

So last Saturday I went to a  Net Epic initiation…. and I had the luck to play the Imperial Guard, against the Orks. So to see two of my favorit factions in action. It was a barrel of laugh. The whole game was done in 3 turns (which still lasted close to 5 hours)

There we go, last day of the month and I finaly kicked my arse to get in gear for the gaming side of things. So as I did paint all I required for the 2020 FOW solo gaming scenarios : https://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=6937

I decide to play the German Counter Attack Scenario: https://www.flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/Documents/Missions/GermanCounterattackScenario.pdf

So one of the German Panzer Grenadier squad got wipped off but the Germans did win this one. Was fun, especially after years without playing FOW. This took me about 3 hours with the setup 🙂

Sorry for the low quality of the pictures. I really wanted to reach my objective for February and still have proofs, will do better next time 😉

So here we are, I made it for January!

I first wanted to watch how the Virtual Lard was run, and well not impose the fact that despite owning some of the Too Fat Lardies Rules books I never played.

Well the organizer Jeremy offered me to play a game of Sharp Practice 2 instead and I thought why not.

So there I was pro-pulsed as a Bavarian Commander in 1809!

The proof are in the piccies so here we are, more details after them

The whole thing was gamed through Zoom with John handling the miniatures for us and reminding us frequently of the the casualties and shocks points.each side had 2 commanders and due to the scenario we were unable to really coordinate. John and the 3 other players were real nice into providing advice and answering questions.

A big thank to John who was a great organizer and which I loved to play his refreshing scenario. And to the

I really had a blast, if they do a VL5 I will probably get myself in a game too 🙂

So… what is that project?

Warning, wall of text incoming.

Well once upton a time in early 2020 I gave myself an objective for the year in addition to the “I wanna paint this and that” usual objectives.

The idea was simple, play one game of miniature wargaming every single month. Due to several reasons I was not able to achieve that objective and neither did I push myself enough to try to achieve that objective. I will not dwell on the worries and priorities that changed things and all that.

So here we are,  one miniature game per month, however this include:

  • Solo wargaming
  • Table top Simulator
  • Online convention

This objective can be over achieved in a month, if I do two or three games. However, over achievements from one month will not compensate previous months and will not be done in advance for the next months 😉

I think it is important to keep gaming as well… all the research, purchasing, modeling and painting we do is in the end (at least in the idea) for the goal of gaming.
