About the Project
Warlord Games Mystery Box gave me 5 WWII British Infantry, but no weapons sprues. Luckily I had a bunch of extra sci fi weapons from the pair of Riverhorse Resistance (USA) sprues I got. So I decided to go space tommy and kitbash for the first time!

Support Squad Painted
First Paint
Started off easy with a standard, non-kitbashed resistance miniature. Went with Ocean Gray 2 RAF (Tamiya) for the armour and NATO green (Tamiya) for the clothing, hair and boots are Mournfang Brown (Citadel), leather is Hull red (Tamiya), red bandana is Wadzakka red (Citadel), skin is a mixture of flat flesh and desert yellow (both Tamiya), and gun is a traditional gunmetal.
Mostly trying to get my painting scheme figured out for the squads. I like the armour colour, but I’ll likely switch the clothing colours. Give them a more adhoc look
Initial build
My builds, due to the odd number, consists of three squads. The first is the “support” squad, with an anti-material launcher and loader, and an unarmed medic. The second and third are generic infantry squads.
The most interesting parts of the build were fitting the arms onto the torsos that clearly weren’t designed for them. In the case of the British WWII models, I slivered down their torsos until the arms fit snug. However the most challenging was for one of the green resistance fighters (tall one with a helmet).
I ran out of appropriate weapons options for him due to the way the sprues are designed (3 ABC figures with 6 weapon choices, and 1 much slimmer D figure with 2 weapon choices) and the fact I used only ABC weapons for my Space Tommies. Thus I had to take a D weapon and cut off one of the arms in order to not make it too awkward on the torso itself.
This was my first kitbash and I’m feeling pretty happy with myself. I know if I had some green stuff the puddy would make a difference, but with my limited current modelling equipment I think it’s turned out well.
