Big yellow Titan of Doom and its mates

About the Project
This project is going to follow the building of Seren Storm my Eldar Revenant titan. It has been stripped and restarted a few times as i get new ideas. The final plan is to build the Titan on a base that can hold the rest of a 1000 point Eldar force (this does keep changing as gw do like adapting the points every now and again)

Avatar
Finished this dude this evening been using my lock down evenings after work to paint up some of my eldar project.
This Avatar has had a hard life. It was very badly damaged due to a crumpled storage box.
The head was pretty much gone as was the sword, i tried replacing them with parts of a tree man from the sigmar range which kind of worked but i was never happy with it.
After a lucky donation of a mates eldar bits box i was able to find enough wraith parts to solve the problem. I guess in fluff terms you probably would not see an avatar with wraith bits. Im going with the rule of cool.
Painting the models
Now i just have to paint the rest of the Titan and the other models.
My plan is that using this as a project i will actually carry on painting and Finish this project before starting or continuing another one…….
The Eldar figures all have washers glued into the base, and have plasticard tiles on top to match the figure bases with the stand.
Basing the Titan
To base the Model i used a piece of drift wood that i then built platforms on with magnets sunk in to hold the rest of the figures in place.
I also added some purple LEDs not sure if i will use them or not but its much easier to add them at this point.
The magnets are placed under a layer of plasticard to stop them popping out.
The whole thing was then covered in a mix of glue and sand, once that was dry i sculpted on some stone blocks they are mainly there to hide the supports under the platforms.
The big wraith bone structure is made from wooden chop sticks and cardbord and is mainly there to give strength to the titan i was able to pin into the leg and the wing to hold it in place.
The tiles were made out of squares of plasticard
The base was painted with acrylic paint from wilkinsons and then dry brushed with lighter browns and white.
Naming the Titan
The Titan was named after my fiancé who’s middle name is Seren Storm with translates to star storm which i thought was a cool Eldar style name.
After some google searches i was able to find the eldar runes and was able to add the name to the leg shield.
Wings of Doom
The next part of the project was to make some wings, i had a few ideas for this.
The first was to find a model i could kit bash them off but this would have been expensive and i could not find wings large enough. So i built a frame with bent coat hanger wire and sandwiched it between two layers of thin plasticard, this gave me the shape and i could bend the panels to shape also the wire ends were a nice and solid way of attaching the wings to the body.
The next step was to plan out the shape of the feathers to do this i cut out strips of plasticard in the shape i wanted and layered them on to the wings then using green stuff i sculpted the feathers.
I also filled the face in on the titans head with green stuff to give it a plain wraith style face. At this point the Titan had a single eye which i thought would be a cool idea but soon removed it as it looked a bit odd.
At this point i thought it would be cool to give the titan a single rifle style weapon a bit like a huge swooping hawk.
I got a generic laser gun toy from pound land and chopped it up and stuck it to one of the weapons that came with the titan. This was easier said than done as the cheap plastic toy did not stick that easily in the end i had to use araldite but it has done the job.
Bam!!!! Arms and Hands
The first plan i had for the titan was to give it some arms and hands.
The first order troopers arms were perfect so after a quick operation with my trusty hack saw the first part of the project was complete.
To make the arms fit i stuffed the storm troopers arms with putty and slid them over the old stick arms.
To make the arms fit in with the eldar style i green stuffed some details like the armour plates over the hands and added some soul stone gems, which are just stick on shiny gems from a sewing shop.
