Flamecaster/Herald of Fire/Herald of Magma/Tempered Sorcerer
I removed the axe from the left hand, then cut the flame from the top of the axe and added it to the hand.
Speed paint Colored metal armor
To paint the Green Metal armor I primed German Grey, sprayed 2 layers of metals Zenithal style then glaze it with Warplock green contrast paint through an airbrush. After than i picked out the places I wanted to be silver or gold with a silver paint. I then painted whole with a black oil wash. The gold section I ran a nazdreg yellow contrast over. I painted any none metal parts and washed with a very thin ink for each color.
Speed paint fire units
These units will probably not be all fire and hot metal in later stages but they are tabletop ready and i can come back to them when the armies complete.
On the fire units after then where primed as stated in the previous section I airbrushed Vallejo yellow ink. Then liquitex orange red ink. 3rd Liquitex transparent raw umber. followed by a varnish and let it sit overnight.
The next day I mixed up 2 oil washes. But Gw Nuln oil and Fleshshade would also work. I washed the areas that are not flame. I used fleshshade on the raised tips of the fire. Last was just highlighting a little and touch ups.
Lastly German grey basing and come back to them next stage.
Speed paint
SO I have been an army speed painter for a very long time. I paint my armies to what I call stage one as fast as possible, to play with them, I paint in such a way that at anytime I can return to the unit and improve its quality as high as stage 4.
This army is all stage 1, except the Characters and Dragonslayers which are halfway in stage 2.
The reason I work like this is you can get a fun army on the table and then upgrade it a little each week to improve the look.
After assembly I decide on the best priming method for what the units color scheme will be. I always prime 3 colors it seems like a lot of work but saves you time in the long run. For example the armored unit here where primed in German gray, Then steel from the side and silver from above. The fire unit where primes dessert yellow bone and white.
I do not paint the bases for my armies in stage 1. I go with a dark neutral color and leave it as that for now until stage 2.
