Last Alliance Lord of the Rings Army Build

About the Project
For some time I’ve wanted to get started on a Last Alliance Army. Have always loved that opening scene of them marching on Mount Doom. Figured it was high time to dig out all that I had collected and get some work done. Posting a chunk of photos of the Last Alliance that I’ve been working on for the past 2 months. I do basecoat these models black since most of the model remains black. Next up is mounted conversions for Elendil and Isildur and an Arnor Battle Company.

Numenor Update
So GW does not make a mounted Elendil or mounted Isildur model but yiu can take them on horse in SBG so i figured id make my own. They also dobt make a Numenor CPT so ive Been working on these lately. All are conversions. The Elendil and Isildur mounted Armor don’t exactly match the foot models but im happy enough with them.
CPT is a FW Dol Amroth Foot Knight and mounted CPT is a GW Mounted Dol Amroth Knight. Gave him Citadel Guard heads for both and added a Fireforge shield.
Elendil mounted is a simple GW King Elessar conversion. chopping off Aragorn’s bare head and using an Elendil foot model’s head.
Isildur mounted model is a GW Dol Amroth knight body with the head from another Isildur foot model.
Now i just need to finish up the paint job, wash and base them. Will send a finished pic soon.
Rivendell
So decided to add some High Elves to the Last Alliance project. Worked on these back in November. Still need to give them a wash and do the basing. Thats next.
Men of Numenor
So started these about 2 months ago. There are four swordsmen converted with Gripping beast Viking axes, two I made heroes by simply putting gold trim on the cloak. Made two swordsmen CPTs also by giving two metal spear men swords and gold trimmed cloaks. Elendil and Isildur are strait up out of the blister. Plan to convert a mounted version of each still so I’ll show that on a different entry once I start it.
I converted 3 plastic swordsmen into spearman and you can see them on the far left of the Army using gripping beast spears and ribbon for the pennants from old GW fantasy high elf horns (I never throw away bits and collect every bit I can lay my hands on).
I also converted a banner bearer by using a Citadel Guard spearman by putting a plastic Numenor swordsman head on it and a banner from old GW high elf banner and put a spacewolf decal on it along with a Numenor symbol I printed a decal for using Testors decal sheets. Fun little conversion.
Also this is the first time I have ever put flowers on a base! Thanks to Gerry!
