About the Project

Bit of a micro project but I just discovered what the kids would call a ‘life hack’ and wanted to share. (I couldn’t get this to load as a single entry so please hit ‘view oldest first’ before continuing).

I spotted this case of Midland Tuffs in one of my draws and it occurred to me that it might be the perfect size for a wet palette.

I’d already had my eye on this pack of sponges in our kitchen.

After removing the stickers (which came off very cleanly), the case looked a lot more attractive. Placing the lid over the sponge it was clear that it would be a pretty good fit.

Trim to Fit

After trimming the short end of the sponge it went in with a little encouragement but I decided to trim a little off the longer side for a better fit.

With a sheet of grease proof paper trimmed to fit and the tag trimmed off with a blade, it was all done!

Add Grease Proof Paper

The lid is handy for transport and keeping the palette clean and moist when not in use.
