Playing with STL’s

About the Project
I received a letter from the NHS last week saying i am at high risk and should self isolate till mid June, So here I am self isolating in the attic bedroom/hobby room away from my wife and kids. since I downloaded the dragons crest free 3D files and began printing I wanted to play with the STL's to add some details or make some new parts, so time to dust of the hobby tools and play.

This Project is Cancelled
So i got distracted again, lol
I’m hoping to get back to the model soon but this is what I’ve been up I hope you Like them it’s a Redhood Helmet and a BD-01 Droid from The Fallen Order Game.
Distracted
I’ve been distracted as of late printing, building, painting and programming this book nook for my wife. I’m still isolated in the attic and needed to refresh my Arduino skills, if I had any lol. Any questions just ask I’ll answer all I can.
Original Idea
As any one who looked at the cover photo for this project you may have noticed that this is the first custom part i had drawn and printed for this model, all because i prefer putting the ship together my way not the way the plans said and there wasn’t a top cover that fit. i had to take the cover for the cockpit and cut loads out and extend it to fit the smaller of the two centre hull squares.
I’m in the process of trying to make the ship multi level i’ll post when i have more than an idea.
Airlock Module
I’m happy with the overall prints of the top and the bottom of the Airlock module there are a few small issues but they can be sorted in paint.
but its back to Sketch-up as it needs a top cover lol.
Airlock Module
I decided to spend some time yesterday to draw/redraw one of the STL’s for the ship to give me an air lock (kind of) top and bottom. I ended up deleting nearly 90% of the original files but i only needed the corridor connections and the basic shape. from then it was a case of a lot of flipping and Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V to get the final parts.
3D files Problem:
If you are going to design your own Terrain or minis your design may have errors you are not aware of I open my STL file in 3D builder first just to see if there is a problem with the file, It will tell you and fix the problem for you if you let it ( It hasn’t changed my files when it was fixed but please keep a backup just in case).
