Rohan Army build

So got these guys finally done!  Had to add shields to Eomer and the mounted Eorl the Young.  Had to cast Eorls shield with the blue stuff.  A little thick but it works for me.  Eomer shields are old Warhammer fantasy dwarf shields that I used the Bretonian unicorn transfer sheets on again.  The next part of this project is the Sons of Eorl squadron of 11 models.  Probably not going to get to those guys anytime soon as I’m getting distracted and kind of burnt out on Rohan.

My distraction is my Last Alliance Army project.  Will start a new project with my Last Alliance Army build.    Of course im also distracted by my Arnor Battle Company I started! ?  Will include them in the Last Alliance project!

Next up for Rohan are a couple of Ankle biter paint jobs.  Foot versions of Eomer and a CPT of Rohan and a mounted Eorl the young.  I had already painted their other version bit for some reason did not get them painted.
After that ill jump into my Son’s of Eorl conversion project.  Ill post a teaser picture of that below, more to follow on that one later.  But up front a HUGE thank you to Steve Barber miniatures for getting me Ideal heads.

Well finally done with Theoden and Gamling but i may add some more decals to Gamling’s banner.  Have a couple of ideas Given to me by my buddy Drew about filling up the extra space at the end of the flag with some 40k eldar symbols.   We shall see.  But for now they are done!

Gamling with banner head is from Gripping beast if i remember right and Gamling with swd on foot head is from victrix viking.  Horse hair plume is from a 40k chaos head of some type.
I used testors decal sheet to print horse and crown.  But my micro set did not work as well as usual on the decal or my decal sheet is just too old as you can see the decal line.  Oh well its good enough for 3ft table top viewing.

Oh, and tried a flower for the first time on a base.  Not a bad look.

Well Theoden is do e minus the shield and basing.  Been working on Gamling.
Have decided to create a flag decal with testors decal paper.  Will show you that once ive finalized it bit it will have the same horse as my Rohan Die.

Well finally did some work on Theoden.  Still need to add some more detail and highlights and then wash an base but he is coming along.  Plan to catch the foot model up to this one.  Feeling good about the progress and this should help me on starting the other heroes!

So ive basically been on my ass as far as getting these moving forward.  Kinda got burned out on Rohan or maybe just feeling daunted by all these heroes.  So i actually Decided to paint some rank and file Numenoreans to try to get me out of that funk.  Im almost done with a small warband of Numenoreans so i plan to do tackle Theoden alone next so that should help me focus.  Here is a picture of current status of these guys and a pre wash/based picture of my Numenoreans.

So finalized attaching the new heads and sculpting the hair on the three former gamling models. He had so much hair i needed to redo a lot to hide the damage from removing the head.  Here is the result before painting.  Not sure im happy with the new shield for the model that was formerly Theoden and now is a Royal guard Cpt.  I think its too thick so ill probably cast another one.

Well i just want happy with the un helmeted heads.  Being a Soldier myself you never go into combat without your helmet on.

So true to my form i have found helmets to put on these guys and i have removed their bare heads.  I’ll be adding some horse plumes to some helmets.

I also decided to go ahead and paint the  new Theoden and turn the old one into a Royal guard CPT.  Had to remove part of the arm with helmet in it but i saved the shoulder, so ill find a suitable arm to go on it and ive casted another shield like the mount to match it.  Gotta lovethat blue stuff.
