Unboxing
After I found the Competition, I was interested to join, but I am staying with mother-in-law. Luckily, I have chance to go back home where my equipment and paint are there. I selected this miniature, because the design is good for OSL technique.
Assemble
After quick unboxing, I assemble and found that the wand piece was missing. It was broken and lost inside the box. I took a hour for find it and fix.
The Fiendfyre Magic part was not fit well. I need hair dry to heat blow to bend it. There was gaps. I filled them with Epoxy putty and used Vallejo Matt Medium to make it smooth.
Zenithal Hilight
Because the Fiendfyre Light effect, the light is not from only the top it shine almost 180 degree from above. The pre shading is adjusted from normal.
This is first time used the Liquidtex white Ink for mixing with Vallejo Black Priming. It turned perfectly. There is no chalk effect. It is very smooth
Grindelwald
I used the dress design from movie and used the color as normal not OSL effect.
I used the Scale75 Artist Color Range. They are very smooth, matt, and easy to blend.
Draft Color Theme
I used Autdesk Sketchbook to design the color theme. I was inspired by the crystal brush Bellerofonte from Francesco Ferabi color theme, the Red and Blue.
OSL
I started by wrapping Grindelwald with Kitchen shrink wrap and air brushed the Fiendfyre Spell with Liquidtex red ink and highlight with Orange by mixing with Yellow Ink. The blue part, I used blue with Scale75 artist blue color and hilight with mixed white ink.
I unwrapped Grindelwald. Unfortunately, the wand was broken again. I fixed with Glue.
I did OSL effect by Airbrush Glaze with Red ink from below angle and Glazed with Scale75 Artist blue from Above.
I brush painted for the grey skull of the spell with Vallejo Grey and Hilight with mix of white ink.
Clean the base with Black.
The end of long night. I finished him at 5 AM in the morning which I started assembling on 9 PM.
