I didn’t know about this website when I first started this army, so I already have quite the collection, so I’ll start by showcasing what I have. As I add more I will update here.

First up are the Commanders. I am particularly proud of Vader, as I tried some new techniques with him I had never tried before and I was very happy with how they came out. The work I did on him is what helped me to challenge myself with more detailed hobby projects that focus on extreme highlighting. You can see those in my Marvel: Crisis Protocol project.

Next up are Operatives. I don’t have the Operative version of Vader yet, but he’s on the shopping list.

Support Units

Here are the support units.

For the bases I did cork board, painted a dark brown and then for the snow I did a 1:1:1 mix of Baking Soda, Elmer’s Glue and White Acrylic Paint. The White Acrylic doesn’t have to be anything fancy. I used a big bottle of Delta Ceramcoat from Hobby Lobby.

The mix works really well for realistic looking snow and my work with it here really helped me on several other projects.

Heavy Support Units

Two slightly different angles on the same AT-ST. Still have a second one to paint up, but I had to magnetize it first for upgrades.

So this AT-ST is magnetized. The side weapons and the grenade launcher are removable. The second AT-ST I am working on also has a movable hatch along with a modified General Veers to stick out the top to act as a General Weiss upgrade. It is primed and base coated, but I still have to paint and base it.

On my update for the support units I go into the recipe for how to do the snow you see on this model’s base.

Specialists and Objectives

Specialists and Objectives. If you look closely you’ll notice Han frozen in carbonite. Made this with resin from the ice cube tray. The scale on the smaller ones works out really well.

Mainline Infantry

Mainline Infantry. It’s a Hoth themed army, so I more often than not use Snowtroopers just for theme. I actually have 6 full units of each painted up, but the pics were taken before the last 2 units of Stormtroopers and the last unit of Snowtroopers were completed. I’m working with a friend at work who is a professional photographer to get some better pics taken and once that happens I’ll replace what I have on here with some better pics of everything.

For the recipe on how I did the snow on the bases (which admittedly is hard to see in these pictures), see the update I did earlier on support units (speeder bikes and E-Webs).

Still on the project table I’m working on 6 units of Shoretroopers in a Hoth theme (similar in style to the Snowtroopers), 2 more units of Specialists, 1 more AT-ST and the crashed AT-ST terrain piece.

On the purchase list are Operative Vader, 6 boxes of Stormtrooper upgrades and the Bunker terrain set.

However, right now Legion is pretty far down on my priority list. All of the stores where I used to play closed down in the past couple of months, so I’ve shifted priority to Marvel, Batman, Walking Dead and Frostgrave, which I play with my wife and friend. I’ll be updating those projects regularly as I finish things.

Trying out a white background.

After noticing some faded out highlights on other pictures, I tried using a white background instead of a black one and I like it so much more than the black background. going forward I'm going to be using that instead. Took a new pic of Vader that I think does him more justice than my previous one so I thought I'd update. After noticing some faded out highlights on other pictures, I tried using a white background instead of a black one and I like it so much more than the black background. going forward I'm going to be using that instead.
