About the Project

Creating a sector of space for my Star Wars RPG Group, I didn't want it to be within the known planets of the Star Wars canon. This allows me to have some freedom with the sector in creating a living environment for my players.

Just love the look of this ship so I’m looking to update the information to the game timeline and not from the old republic. (taken from Wookieepedia and images from artstation)

Built for combat, the rare, compact-framed D5-Mantis was a best-in-class patrol craft, designed to compete with—and meet the demands of—much larger starships, such as Interdictor-class cruisers.

The vessel utilized three retractable armament foils with independent power supplies, allowing it to safely use weapons meant for larger vessels. The foils also significantly reduced the ship’s profile, allowing it to land or dock in more confining spaces than other ships would be able to use. A surprising number of D5-Mantis patrol craft could, therefore, be tightly packed into carrier ships presenting a nasty surprise to enemy vessels.

The D5-Mantis engineers also made extensive use of a vertically economical interior design to condense and fully utilize space. The vessel’s small bulkheads accommodated large, open areas and improved the ease of maintenance.

Yinrâ Koihûs is a dark and foreboding world at the far reaches of the sector, wherein years past countless millions were laid to rest beneath grim grey skies and cold stone. That anyone would choose such a forlorn place may be a surprise, it is believed that Yinrâ Koihûs contains some the strange power: those who were swiftly interred within days of passing may live again, albeit in a ghostly form. Some great wonder was at work on the world, and the dead continue to appear before the living and commune with them, though there are some limitations. The dead could not learn anything new, only recall memories from their living days, and they must receive regular contact, or their memories will fade away, leaving with the ghostly apparition. It is believed by some that those who are rise are the dark memories of those and wish to return to undertake some dark purpose for the planet. A great temple to some ancient lord, the largest single structure stands at the centre of the planet. Here, in the vast marbled halls filled with silence, in the past petitioners could have brought their fallen and seek permission to bury them on Yinrâ Koihûs. If it had been approved, instructions where to find their final resting place, and once the fallen was interred in the soil of the world, may rise once more. There are sad tales of the living being unable to let go of loved ones buried on Yinrâ Koihûs, remaining in the presence of the past, til they too pass away. All attempts to study the planet have met with failure; expeditions have been known to encounter extraordinary runs of ill luck and data corruption. For now, the secrets of Yinrâ Koihûs remain undisturbed, and the jump beacons have been destroyed and the primary jump point is under blockade.Yinrâ Koihûs is a dark and foreboding world at the far reaches of the sector, wherein years past countless millions were laid to rest beneath grim grey skies and cold stone. CRIMELORDS:

  • Baal Skath: A mysterious figure rumoured to be based in the jungles of Kalishe, Skath specialises in the flesh trade, whether it be slaves, dangerous creatures, poisons or biotec. Individuals who have crossed the Baal never live long enough and are usually found poisoned with some unknown neurotoxin, if they are ever found at all.
  • The Keldon Syndicate: Is a conglomerate of smugglers, they have a long-standing arrangement with the Princess Xedvan distributing her Syndicates wares throughout the Sector. They are known to have official offices on Correx Nova, Siccidde and Vorzheva, though they are likely to have members in every planet in the sector that has a spaceport. Highly organised, they will band together against any threat to one of their members and can amass a fleet of considerable size and firepower. They ask a steep cut of the profits in return for such solidarity and can be brutal in enforcing co-operation both within their ranks and without.
  • Rorogg the Hutt: The major power on the eclipsed world of Palauga, the Hutt conned control of the planet out from House Salimova almost a century ago, leading to the House’s demotion to Lesser House status. His presence has increased criminal activity throughout the Sector, and he considers himself a Spice connoisseur, with illegal harvests scattered across the backwaters of numerous worlds. He takes personal pleasure in undermining the power base of Princess Xedvan & The Dead Star Syndicate, and can when needed can call upon the considerable might of the Hutt Clans to support his concerns within the sector.
  • Das’tihu the Red: What began as a desperate attempt to escape from the brutal slave cities of Barhok turned into a very lucrative people-smuggling business for the red-skinned Twi’lek. He is a very complicated individual to deal with; while at times he appears as the compassionate rescuer, he also will bleed his cargo dry and is known to blackmail them for years afterwards. He has carved small section of the known sector for himself, having branched out into forging identities and papers; exactly how he can move his cargo about without being caught is a closely guarded secret that he will take to his grave.
  • N9-ZX N10-ZX (Nines and Tens): These BX-series droid commandos remnants of the clone wars have an entire planet’s worth of tech waste at their disposal. These to droids can provide anyone with the resources with anything they require, within a reasonable timeframe. It’s rumoured that NInes and Tens are worth millions of credits each, but what exactly they’re saving for is anyone’s guess. They can make or repair anything, and they enjoy testing their creations on those worthless meat bags.
  • Princess Xedvan & The Dead Star Syndicate: A Falleen noble who oversees the smuggling of cargo through the key Sector gateway of Correx Prime. Most of the cargo that is smuggled into the sector has to passes under her baleful glare, and she makes sure to take her tithe. She is on respectable terms with most of the other crimelords, though he considers Rorogg the Hutt to be her nemesis. It is also said that she has the ear of the imperial governors and the noble council.

PIRATES:

  • The Void: More of a myth than a real threat to transports and cargo within the Sector, it’s said to operate along the length of the Persei Rift between a collection of four planets including Klueshem and Ukeksaeph. It is said that ships will drop out of hyperspace without warning, in the middle of nowhere, only to be seized by and surrounded by some black void that closes in on the ship and eventually consuming the ship leaving no trace.
  • The Maelstrom: By far the worst marauders within the Sector, these vicious pirates plague a trading route called the Starburn Run between Teardrop and Vorzheva; they somehow manage to pull ships out of hyperspace and then jam comms and sensors. Their fleet is large, their strategies sound, and they have outwitted numerous attempts to crush them by local forces.
  • The Blood Reavers: Slavers, they are commonly found on the trade route between Ravenholt and Bramblewood, though they have been known to attack anywhere in the sector. Their erratic raids have thus far eluded local patrols, and though it is suspected that they have a relationship with the crime lord Baal Skath, local law enforcement authorities have yet to move against them.
  • Lord Deighton: The gentleman robber, known for his distaste of unnecessary bloodshed, he is still ruthless when it is required and his small but expert band of pirates can strip a ship of all its valuables in minutes.
  • The Hruirrsk Slayers: More of a terrorist organisation than profiteers or privates, the Slayers practice their deadly trade along the route between Ravenholt and Gweyr Krom. Entirely a non-human crew, they are notorious for slaughtering all human captives and sparing the rest. It is believed they are lead by a Trandoshan named Hruirrsk Kegegh.
  • Cajresis’s Revenge: A thorn in the side of the Hutt, Shasta’s Revenge carries out its vendetta against Hutt shipping heading into and out of Palauga. On the rare occasion that a non-Hutt ship has been boarded, the Revenge will release the ship without harm. They operate a small flotilla of vessels.
  • Other Unidentified Groups: Numerous lesser groups operate throughout the Correx Nebula; while most are desperate brigands, some are fronts for Rebel activity or other unknown organisations. Some are seen once but never heard of again, while others are simply small freighters who’ve simply fallen on hard times.

Overview of the Correx Sector (Complete)

The Correx Sector is a small region of space limited to the confines of the Correx Expanse. Located on the fringe of known space with the hyperspace lane linking Teth to Correx Prime, the Correx Sector has been slow to relinquish its wealth and many planetary systems lie hidden and unreachable deep within the interstellar clouds of the everchanging maelstrom of space. It is believed that the Expanse is the remnant of a colossal supernova that occurred tens of thousands of years ago.

Imperial scholars believe that the supernova collapsed some 3500 years ago during the height of the old republic destroying the fledgling civilisations in the region and leaving a dark void that now spans across the heart Correx Sector. Not much remains of ancient Correx as the worlds were consumed in the fires of the supernova. The fires still rage from time to time causing star burn and solar flares that make navigating the sector a very difficult and dangerous feat.

In the most dangerous parts of the Correx sector, hyperspace beacons have been placed and are forever scanning the surrounding area looking for star burn and/or solar flares that would have a deadly effect on hyperspace travel. When one of those incidents occur and due to the beacons always scanning the area, they then broadcasting adjusted hyperspace co-ordinates for all to use.

Due to the small size and the dangers of travelling in and around the Correx Sector, it has been blessing with a large number of inhabited worlds. Over the millennia the system has been shield due to the dangers with the system from the influence of the corporations and the machination of the Hutt clans; the so-called The Correx Trade Route links to the most accessible of the hyperspace lanes in and out of the sector and in more recent times has been protected by the Imperial Navy.

It is widely believed that some elements of the underworld (select individuals and organisations) know of secret routes that allow them to pass directly through the heart of the sector; it is said that only fools and the insane would attempt to jump into the void without the meticulously calculated the jump co-ordinates and a beacon on the other side. There have been many stories of ships just vanishing into the void or being attacked by pirates raiders that plague the sector.

During the time of The Galactic Republic The Correx Sector was controlled by a collection of Noble Houses, each of whom battled and negotiated with one another due to vested interests each noble houses controls more than one system within the sector. The Noble Council would meet regularly at the sector capital. Corporations and other merchants were required to negotiate with The Sector Council to enter the markets of trade. Before the rise of the empire, the sector voted on elected a representative to the Galactic Senate; now that the Correx Sector is under control of the empire the council has become just become a figurehead without any real power outside of the sector.

The council now reports/liaises with the Imperial Governor Moff Kyreiken, based in the new Imperial capital on Correx Prime. The relationship between the Council and the Imperial Governor is complicated, being at times obsequious, fractious, and occasionally deadly; ultimately the Council is slowly losing more and more control to the Empire.

CORPORATIONS WITHIN THE SECTOR

While numerous corporations have been operating throughout the sector for decades, under the rule of the Emperor several industries have been nationalised and many local corporations are now under the direct control of the Empire and the local governor’s whos planets are based on.

A number of the local corporations managed to survive being nationalised under the Empire, however many fear that it will be only a matter of time before their assets would be seized by the Empire and added the Imperial War effects against the Rebellion.

Within the sector, a smaller unknown war has been brewing some time.

A small but profitable trading company run by the Azzammen family has managed to make a good living within the Correx Sector, however, over the past few months, the Viraxo clan has started to use their influence with some of the local Imperial Governors to muscle into the shipping business, forcefully taking over routes that the Azzammen had worked. Now the Viraxo are taking away their customers using cutthroat business tactics, bribery, blackmail and any other dishonest means they can think of.

Open trade war has begun…

Some of the most widely known Corporations within the sector include

  • Alexin Engineering “nothing’s as fast as an Alexin”
  • Cyris Arms “nothing succeeds like a Cyris”
  • Daviron Energy “step into the light”

The Correx Sector Gazetteer - Dianides (Complete)

Dianides is a shattered world, split in two by the cataclysmic event that caused the fall of the Correx Empire. The forces of gravity have been hard at work, however, and the remnants of the planet have reassembled to form a new world of high volcanic, tectonic and cosmic activity.

Numerous chunks of the planet still orbit the central planetary mass, and meteoric bombardment is a continuous threat. Volcanoes run along the great fissures that cross the world, and there are constant seismic events as the two main halves grind against each other. Imperial scientists are drawn to the planet, and from the relative safety of its outermost moon, they monitor the planet below, eager to decipher the mystery that surrounds the planet.

The surface of the planet is lifeless where oceans have been transformed into dusty deserts; firestorms engulf the planet on a frequence unmatched in the galaxy; ill winds scour the ancient and ruined ziggurats that tower over the plains. Immense structures, the ziggurats are believed to one of the few locations bearing physical evidence of the old Correx Empire to have survived. The hyper lanes to access the planet are the most dangerous in the sector.

The Correx Sector Gazetteer - Correx Prime (Complete)

Correx Prime is a beautiful ocean world, the blue jewel that crowns the Correx Nebula and the capital planet for the whole Sector. Blessed with abundant seas and favourable winds, Correx Prime has long served as the sacred gathering place of the noble houses, who reside in stunning white cities and palaces that float in the skies over the waves.

So captivating are the vistas of the Nebula rising over tranquil seas that it is said that even the Emperor himself has an Imperial Residence here, a pinnacle piece of imperial architecture formed from millions of golden blades that turn slowly about a central palace, its location is a closely guarded secret.

As is befitting a world supposedly frequented by the Emporer, the planet is protected by a vast energy shield, projected by a number of huge generator towers that burst from the waves to loom into the sky.

The capital of Shati A’Syri is the largest floating city on the planet where the noble houses hold council. It is full of political intrigue and scandal befitting its status in the sector; what transpires in the gleaming council chambers and scintillating banquet halls have major ramifications that affect every corner of the sector.

With the rise of the Galactic Empire, the power and influence of nobles has been somewhat diminished as more and more Imperial might is exerted; however it wouldn’t be possible for the Empire to maintain order across the Sector without the support of some of the council members, and for the time being an uneasy alliance has been brokered.
