We did a shoot on Thursday, OnTableTop wasn’t letting me upload the files, sorry for the darkness, but very pleased with how this beast is turning out. To get a sense of scale, I have a photo of myself in shot.

Last night we filmed the first round of shots for the pitch video. The model was very hard to get stable, even with the added supports, we ended up gluing some sections on the base to keep it from drooping under its own weight – when standing on its landing gear, gravity holds the ship together nicely, but supported only by its underbelly, it bends slightly rainbow-like, drooping at the ends.

A stop motion studio, smoke machine and movable rig completed the shoot, here two of my accomplices, Hannes and Micke film a side shot. Sorry for the blurriness.

Tonight we plan on filming a pitch video for the Kickstarter. The model exterior painting is finished, as well as the bridge. We will experiment with lighting as well, hopefully getting out the old smoke machine as well to bring an LV-426 feeling to the set.

My next project is soon coming to Kickstarter on the 23rd of October, 2019. This is a short animation I did in Maya of how the ship will be laid out when fully built.
