About the Project

As it is Orktober and I didn't have anything to use to join in, one kind soul provided me with a box of Ork Stormboyz for 40k. As I plat Black Legion and don't have any Raptors I've decided to convert, or kitbash, them like below. https://images.app.goo.gl/HQUj4HqFqXTW9heD6 So from them ^ to these. https://images.app.goo.gl/bBFeHvC8cZByMK9Y9 Remembering that must clearly be Raptors, but must retain Orkyness. My first step will be looking through my 'bits' to see what I have that can help as well as working out how I want the squad armed.

After my last update I stopped to put some marines together. Sorry.

Well, it is still Orktober and I am still going strong here. I have put a gallery above of the pieces most likely to be used to beaky up my Stormboyz into Raptors.

Whilst in the warp The Ladz have had to scavenge bits of kit hence there is mixed Pantheon stuff.

My idea for the heads is to apply the horns from the helmets to the existing Ork heads where possible. I also plan to give them all bolt pistols instead of sluggaz. My poor craft knife is going to be earning its keep!

Away from the bright lights and camera I have been carrying out background work on what weapons the Raptors can have and having a quick look at the Stormboyz sprue.

At first glance it is going to be difficult to marine them up. The heads are too large for marine helmets and the back and legs are one piece.

There is good news though. I have a solution for the heads/helmets which I will come to later and I think I found enough spare shoulder pads and marine backpacks to start the necessary adjustment and give the orks that distinctive marine silhouette.
