Astra militarum Battlegroup hobby project

So I just got Chrismas vacation and is now getting my hobby on!

First off is Sgt. Harker joining the battlegroup. I made some conversion on him. I added the muzzle fire and the empty shells popping out of the MG.

it’s been awhile since I have made an update, but over the next couple of days I will upload the new part of my IG army 😀

first up, is my first bullgryn out of my new 6 man squad of these cool guys! 🙂

so just a short update about why I mark my Guard the way I do.

first of the read strip on the shoulder and vehicle is to represent that the the battalion markings, in this case red is the colour for the number = 1. The numbers on the shoulder pad represent the unit on a company level. ex. red marking and nr. 823 represent = 1 battalion, 8 company, 2 platoon, 3 squad.

Next is the shoulder marking symbol overturned E. I myself have a military background as a danish Combat Engineer (panser ingeniør aka sapper, pioneer ), and the overtured E is the international marking for combat engineers. I thought that it would be funny if my guard army also had that as a marking.

with a new job there hasn’t that much time for hobby. But here is my first sentinel. Damn it was hard to glue. 😀

This is battlegroup Nostradamus Alfa scholastica psykana detachment of a primaris psyker. He is under direct command of the battlegroups commander and is deployed according to his instructions.

He is homemade from imperial guard and space marine part. I tried to make his cape out of green stuff by using GW video tutorial. It work ok, not great, but ok 🙂

Next up is LT Nils Wolf. He is platoon commander of 2. platoon, 8. CO. also under company commander Captain Hektor Pavlo.

8. CO is not at full strenght, because of the fighting on Nostradamus. A normal company is usually made up of 3 platoon in peace time, and can get buffed up to 5 platoons during war-campaigning. 8. CO. used to be a 5 platoon company, but the intense fighting on Nostradamus has depleted the company for manpower and the company is now down to two full platoons.

Next up is 1. LT Tomas Lasko. He is platoon commander of 1. platoon, 8. CO. under company commander Captain Hektor Pavlo (see part 1.)

So I finish painting company commander Captain Hektor Pavlo. He is in charge of Cadian 23th Pioneer REG., 1. BN., 8. CO.

hey! This blog will be me uploading pictures of my imperial guard army as it gets painted. It a way for myself to motivate myself and to make a gallery of my army. Hopefully you guys will find this interesting.

I will be going into the battlegroup organization, to give the army a narrativ and then start uploading pictures of my models as I get them painted.

I have called my battlegroup “Nostradamus Alfa” after the famous french astrologer and “alfa” for representing that their part of a bigger army organization. I think the name is quit fitting for 40k goth vibes.

The battlegroup is made up of Cadian forces fighting to keep an imperial hold on the hiveworld Nostradamus sector 1A .

the battlegroup is made up of alots for famous cadian characters because… I want those characters in my army. 🙂

I will be starting to paint the officers first to build up the officers corps.
