About the Project
I wanted to make a modular board this year as a gaming project. This will be a 6x4 board that is composed of 1x1 tiles of insulation foam mounted on MDF board.

Small scale
Pulled out some of the tiles to make a 3×3 board to play Tanks. Scale of the roads work well. Used my previous scatter and hedgerows.
In action
The table in action for two different games.
Laid out
This is one of the configurations I put out for the reveal for Bolt Action day at the local store.
Painting
I did a caulk, stone and sand gravel mix, glue and drown paint mix.
Then in a green and glue mix on top of that coat.
Progress
Layer up using oops paint from Homedepot mixed with glue. The brown was about perfect but feel the green is too pale. I also picked up Vallejo water effect.
Tiles started
Drew out some expected features. Making sure hills, rivers and roads were centered either 2 or 6 inches down the sides.
Then began with my basic plain tiles adding some scrap expanded foam for small hills and sparkling with sand and sawdust mixture with glue.
Materials Gathered.
I had Homedepot cut the MDF into 1×1. However I’ll try to find another person to help because not very precise. It comes down to who is working the saw. I graves precut 2×2 insulation foam that I cut with a blade into 1×1.
This was glued down down by the wood glue. We had a friend with a table saw to help saw to help even up the boards.
