About the Project

Thanos Rising is a cooperative card and dice game for two to four players where you are looking to recruit a team of heroes and work together to defeat Thanos before he is able to collect the six stones for the Infinity Gauntlet. The Model of the game sculpt looks good, but the paint is terrible. So I decided to repaint it.

The sculpt looks good, but the paint is terrible.  The base does not look like stone at all.  The gold is terrible yellow. There is no depth or light source.

RepaintRepaint

I used the dry brush technique instead of layering or wet-blending to make it faster to paint

Base:  I used the Vallejo White Stone to cover the rock area, then wash with a mix of Citadel Agrax Earthshade and Citadel Nuln Oil.  After that, I dry brushed with Grey and focus dry brushed with White on the topmost area.

Plant: I glued the dry moss for terrain in the front and green turf at the back.

Purple Skin: In Thailand, many kids name the Thanos as Mun-Muang (Muraski Imo – Japanese Murasaki Sweet Potato). Mun means Potato and Muang means Purple.  It is a very popular Potato in Thailand. I based with Scale75 Purple Braineater Azure and Layer a mix of 50% Purple Scale75 Braineater Azure with  50% Grey Scale75 Mistakonic Grey and highlight more with the dry brush a mix of white.

Eyes: I used Vallejo Ivory for the white area and Scale75 Negro Grey for the black pupils.

Gold:  I used Vallejo Metallic gold and mix with Vallejo Metallic white aluminum focus on the edge area.

Blue shirt: I used Scale75 Arianhod Blue and drybrush with a mix of white.

Brown Trousers: I used Vallejo Flat Brown and drybrush with a mix of white

Shoes: I used Scale75 Negro Grey and drybrush with mix of white.  I brush Tamiya Weathering Master Light Sand to the shoe and some part of thousers.
