Primed
The model was primed with Vallejo grey brush on primer.
Base coats
This model was a pleasure to paint. This part usually takes the longest. However being a character and trying to match colors help dictate what part is what.
First up was citadel stormvermin fur. I made sure for the chest to water it down to get between the armor plates. Next was citadel mephiston red for the belt and bracers and faceplate. Followed by army painter angel green. Next we’re some small parts for the black I used army painter Matt black because mine is a very water down consistency. Then army painter demonic yellow and lava orange. I did the cord on the shoulder in a army painter skeleton bone. Lastly was the cape and boots in Vallejo burnt umber.
Wash
I used citadel Agra earth shade to give the grim affect. I typically go dark null oil washes but wanted a lighter affect and felt like it came out great.
Grey layers
The first pic is my pallet. It’s citadel storm vermin fur and dawnstone on top and I mixed those together. The bottom is army painter ash grey for edge highlights.
I did did three layers, one of each those citade colors and the mix followed by the army painter edging.
About done
It’s almost done. Checking for touch ups and varnish after it dries. But got the small parts done.
Red
citadel mephiston red
cotadel bloodletter glaze glaze over that
yellow
citadel yriel yellow and then made that into a glaze using galeria Matt medium.
Orange
gave it the army painter lava orange and made a glaze same as the yellow.
For the flame and light from the flame jets I painted yellow glaze over the orange and did that twice.
Metal pieces
There was a few pieces on the gun for accent. I used army painter gun metal.
With that I feel great for this to be a premier show piece at my local game store.
Mounted
Got the varnish coat on and mounted. I think it looks pretty good. I’ll het a proper picture staged but for now done.
