About the Project
Another Hobby Challenge is here and what a good one it is. SPACE HULK!! so with only 6 weeks and not much money in my pocket I was strongly considering not having a go at this project but come on its space hulk I just cant so I want to make something simple. my plan at the start is to 3D print some corridors (I have been looking in to this as part of my AVP project)and have something in the dark that can only be patchily seen. I plan to use an air brush and washes to give the effect of lighting in the dark only showing part of the creature in the dark corridor. I may think about using real light sources as part of this but that is if I have time. at the moment my plan is to only use one to 3 minis. lets hope the project all goes well and in to the dark we go.

Dry Fitting
Playing with positioning, Want to have its claws griping the door frame with its right claws and it left on the floor but its a bit of an ask so the left is not doing much.
Want the left talon to be out stretched looking like its piercing the floor and dragging back as the right talon is just high in the air.
Frankan' Parts
I want to swap the talons from one side to the other as one is more withdrawn than the other and I need the left talon to be more out stretched.
I’ve decide I will pin all the part so I can play with all the limbs position especially as some of the arms I’m cutting at the elbows.
The Beasts Frame.
My Plan is to frame the beast in this doorway. I want to make it look like beyond the doorway is pitch black and only parts of the tyranid will be protruding from the door way from the dark.
Flooring
Got my hands on some fine brass mesh that I wanted to lay over my flooring. the 3D printed floor tiles have a great cavity to have cables and pipes on but not a great surface over that I hope this mesh will help with that.
A Lucky Mistake.
in recalibrating my 3D I pasted some filament through the extruder but wasn’t watching what I was doing. the filament came out as it should but it rested on the bed below, normally I would hold the end as it came out so it wouldn’t sit on the print bed but then looking at the effect it looks like coiled caballing that has fallen from above.
I think this would look great in my project to show damage to the section of corridor.
Blocking the path ahead
I wanted to get a feel for the profile of the beasty in the door way by holding the arms and talons where I would like them to appear coming out of the dark.
The Beast in the Dark
Why is it always genestealers? why can something a bit bigger and griblyer be hiding out in a space hulk.
In to the Dark
Luckily I’ve been researching some of the parts for this project for another project I’m ruing to make a AVP 3D, 3D printed game board for the AVP Miniature game.
Sadly my first attempts were not exactly what I was looking for, for the AVP Game but its what I need for this project.
I Hope to use he STL Files to make a corridor network that will frame my creature in the dark.
