About the Project

Been playing the Kill Team starter set for some time now and really enjoy it. Decided to finally build my own Astartes Team.

Decided that I didn’t want to go with the traditional colour scheme of the Imperial Fists for the kill team. I wanted to change it up a bit to make them different.

So instead of all yellow I went with just some yellow and the rest grey.

Used the Primaris template from GW. Used the Primaris template from GW.

Intercessor. The non-specialist

Final member of the team. Mostly following the theme here and nothing special for conversion.

Decided against the standard aiming bolter pose and went for something more dynamic/in action. First tried to pose him to either reach for a grenade or hold one.
Posed him to reach for his pistol instead.

Intercessor Gunner: Veteran or Demolition(?)

Built a gunner with the grenade launcher, though I can’t decide on his specialism.
So I kitted him out in some veteran shoulderpads and explosives to at least better identify him as Veteran or Demolitions.

Intercessor: Sniper

Decided I would add a sniper in the team and I wanted a bit more dynamic look for him. Added som debris on the base from the KT starter set terrain and gave him the other bionic leg to pose him a bit.

Gave him some different part from my bitzbox. A rebreather head from the hellblasters kit, magazines pouch from Mark 3 marines and i used a lascannon scope to make the suppressor.

Intercessor: Comms Specialist

Comms specialist next. Used the radar beacon from Anvil to beef up his backpack.
Though I forgot to take pictures before i cut and filed it down. Sorry about that.

Gave him a bandolier as well and the second FW shoulderpad I had. Built him in the GW posterboy pose but I like it and fits his specialism.

Intercessor Sergeant. Leader

Started with building my leader.
Consisted mostly of gluing and gapfilling so not going into much detail.

The Anvil command upgrade came with a wrist mounted chainsaw, which I used it for the sergeants chainsword.

Also tried making a bandolier with some grenades and pouches. Didn’t turn out great but I’ll keep practising for the rest of the team.

Found a couple of FW shoulderpads in my bitzbox so I used one for the sergeant. Also found a servo-skull that I added.

Then the sergeant was done. Well, mostly. Still have a bit of cleanup to do.

The idea for my kill team is that they’re a veteran primaris squad specialised in demolition and breaching, sent for specific search and destroy missions.
Therefore I’m going to make them Imperial Fists, the siege-masters themselves.

Found some nice conversion parts looking around on Anvil industry and Kromlech to give the squad a bit more character.
Got the command upgrade, bionic legs, explosives pack from Anvil and the conqueror veteran heads from Kromlech.
I bought the bionics and heads to make them look more veteran. But mostly just for the cool factor.
