About the Project

Yet another project. I have been a fan of Games Workshop for ages. Warhammer 40 000 was my first foray into miniature gaming. Although I only played 2 or 3 games back when the 3rd Edition was hot. Bought a couple hundred points of Eldar and started painting them. Then life happened and everything got forgotten. I always wanted to come back to WH40K, as I adore the lore and the atmosphere of this game but either didn't have the money or didn't have the time or both. Still, I kept a close eye on things. 8th Edition almost got me back in it, but the tabletop Kickstarter bug bit deep and I didn't have any spare change left. Now low and behold, GW releases Kill Team. This is so magnificent. It's as though they read my mind. 50$ buys you a complete army and you only need to assemble and paint about 10-20 minis. Take my money, take my money now!! So follow me into my journey into a world that I already know without having played a single game in about 15 years.

I finished assembling all the stuff from the Kill Team Starter Set. Good thing too because I’m out of glue. So that part of the project is done. Cheers!

And I continue getting the Starter Box done. Here are the Genestealers. I glued them like I think I would like to play them, but I haven’t played a game yet. Just hope I didn’t do a big booboo like with the buildings.

Those are some of the easiest minis I ever assembled and the choice of poses and weapons is simply astonishing. I always thought GW stuff was expensive, but I must retract my previous acidic comments, this is awesome stuff. If everything is like that I don’t mind paying extra.

I’ll lay off the glueing for a bit, it’s getting to my head.

So this is where I start. Bought the Kill Team Starter Set. I have to say it sat on my shelf for a while as I didn’t have time to dig into it. I began reading the rules first and I must say that I’m not lost. This seems to play as I remember my old 40K games. Still, if I want to play better get cracking assembling all of this.

So this is me glueing together the Sector Imperialis buildings. I must say that the quality is incredible. Everything fits together hasslefree. My only complaint is that I found the instructions a bit confusing. Then again, I haven’t touched a GW mini for 15 years.

You’ll see that I built 2 of the same building. This was a big mistake as it prevented me from building the big one correctly. In the end I still had enough bits and pieces to build something playable but I could have built a much bigger building. Anyways, it will still look good on the table.
