About the Project

Now its the Summer Holidays.. My Youngest Cousin Holly is now off school and has been watching me terrain challenge come to life and she has been loving to watch it develop. Holly is a very artistic and creative girl with lots of fantastic ideas that just bubble out and when she saw my collection of horse minis for my Old West games she asked if she could help with the colours for them, OH YEA didn't i mention she is MAD about HORSES!! As i new she had a long summer holiday ahead of her i sat down and we discussed her doing a terrain project along side painting up some horses so she can let out some of her creative ideas on to the table top. After a long ride make of ideas she decided she wanted to make a Old West style Livery/Stables that she could design the lay out and have a home for the painted horses to go along side. Also after looking at my mini collection she loved see of my cowboy undead minis and wanted to add them to so thats how this "The End is Nigh" Terrain challenge begins. Holly hopes you love the project and she will hope to keep you all updated on its progress.

Once all the walls wear assembles they all fitted in to the bace and we have a livery stable for the ranch.

in addition we added the individual stools inside and uses the horse miniature bace to get the spacing right.

when we glued in the stables we put in the horses so we knew that we had room for all of them and the ladder to the feed store.

The roof was more tricky and needed more glue

the erection of the roof was fun as parts of the structure needed fitting together at the same time before glueing the tiled section to the roof panels.

Out comes the PVA

First thing is to assemble all the parts in the kit in sub assemblies.

sometimes we had to make one bit and then come back to bits once the glue had dried.

once this was done we could assemble the frame of the building.

First thing to do today is build the Stables for the horses at the ranch.

we want on to eBay and go a HDF Stable/Livery old west kit. holly liked this one as it had individual stools for the horses and a second level in the rafters for feed.

Real Horses Hurt, Model Horses don’t.

Holly came over for her next part off her Old West Ranch Project and she had had a little ascendent at home the day before.

when out jumping her horse she came off and had a hoof to the mouth and side.

Holly is all ok and got back on the saddle and is now back for some 28mm horse time.

Hi Holly here.

Over my summer holidays i am going to help my cousin William with some painting of some horses.

We discussed what kind of project holly should do and it always comes back to horses and she knows i have some great cowboy minis un-painted in my collection and she wanted to help chose what colours they should be painted.

she had seen what i have been doing in my project and she wanted to do something as well. after sitting down and talking about it we decided over the next 4 weeks i would help her develop a project of a livery/stables for my cowboy horses to stay.
